Boca Juniors have been handed a major boost in their pursuit of Paulo Dybala, as the Roma star provided an update over his future in Italy.

Paulo Dybala Provides Update On Roma Future

The Argentinian international provided a goal and assist during Roma’s 2-0 away victory over Torino on January 18th, as the Giallorossi moved back into the top four.

Dybala provided an assist for Roma’s opener, as Donyell Malen marked his Roma debut with a goal before the Argentine secured all-three points for Roma in the second-half.

After the match, Dybala provided an update over his future in Italy and the former Juventus star hinted towards a move away from Rome.

Dybala said: “My next match will be the 600th of my career, so Italy will always be special for me. I don’t know how long I’ll stay here, but I want to enjoy it to the fullest.”

The 32-year-old’s deal with the Giallorossi is set to expire at the end of this season and talks over an extended contract have failed to progress.

Gian Piero Gasperini has been very vocal over his desire to keep Dybala for the 2026/27 campaign, but the Giallorossi board have shown concerns over the Argentine’s injury problems.

The former Palermo player has missed seven matches with injury (all competitions), after missing 16 Roma fixtures during the 2024/25 campaign.

Dybala’s repeated injury issues have deterred Roma from an extended deal, but the primary concern is the Argentine’s hefty salary – earning a reported €12.9million per year.

Roma’s hesitation has sent alarm bells to sides across the globe, as Boca Juniors are reportedly monitoring Dybala’s situation in Serie A.

Boca Juniors Target Paulo Dybala

The Roma star was heavily linked with a move away from Italy during the recent transfer window, with Galatasaray and Fenerbahce both showing interest.

However, a move to Turkey failed to materialize and Dybala is reportedly hoping to make a return to Argentina after his Roma deal comes to an end.

Boca Juniors have made contact with the Roma star over a deal this summer and the Argentinian side will be able to offer Dybala an enticing deal as the 32-year-old will join for free.

Gian Piero Gasperini will be hoping to keep Dybala in 2026 as Artem Dovbyk nears a move to Leeds and Evan Ferguson continues to struggle in Italy.

Dybala is set to stay in Rome until the end of this season and there is still a chance that he signs a new deal with the Giallorossi – but his latest comments will give Boca Juniors a huge boost.
