Edoardo Bove Ready to Return: Goodbye Roma, Future Abroad With an ICD

The Roma and former Fiorentina midfielder Edoardo Bove has been training for months with a coach and is ready to go. Once he’s finished dealing with the Giallorossi, he’ll be free to move abroad. There are a few English teams who could make an impact too.

Edoardo Bove is leaving Roma. The two parties will agree to terminate the contract mutually, with the Giallorossi club obviously agreeing to the player’s desire to return to playing. Obviously, the former midfielder will have to do so abroad, as Italian law says you can’t take part in competitive activities if you have a subcutaneous defibrillator (ICD).

Thirteen Months of Work for Bove. Training, Tests and the Road Back

Bove is doing well. In the summer, he went back to training with a coach in Rome, and his body responded just as you’d expect. He’s checked out by doctors every week and is doing everything safely, but he does well under pressure and thinks he’ll be back in the game soon. The plan is to get him back in shape after a thirteen-month break. The midfielder can’t wait to get back on the pitch, and he’s getting better and better. The coaches are always saying how determined he is. This also applies to his mental strength.

“Today you see me in a suit and tie, but I want to get back on the pitch,”

He said a few months ago. From now on, that possibility will be more concrete.

Edoardo is keeping his options open. He’s keen to hear the plans and ambitions of the clubs that come knocking. He knows he’ll have to move and is tempted by the idea of playing abroad. After Rome and Florence, he’s off to a new place. Recently, a few teams, especially from the Premier League, have come forward. There’s a pretty good chance that Bove will be back on the pitch after getting 77 Serie A caps, scoring three goals and making four assists.
