Italian Press Rave Over Christian Pulisic’s Two-Goal Heroics For AC Milan
The forward completed a dramatic turnaround on Monday night.
Christian Pulisic scored a heroic brace in AC Milan’s 3-2 victory against Torino, blowing the Italian press away.
AC Milan Rescued By Christian Pulisic
Pulisic was bedbound with the flu in the hours leading up to the game, before being given a last-minute green light to join up with his team-mates. He then repaid the decision by scoring twice in the second half.
Milan needed all three points to move back to the top of Serie A, but they found themselves trailing 2-0 after just 17 minutes following Nikola Vlasic’s opener and Duvan Zapata’s cool penalty.
Adrien Rabiot halved the deficit with a thunderbolt from distance, before Pulisic was brought on after 67 minutes. The substitute duly wasted no time in netting a 10-minute double to complete the stunning turnaround.
Unsurprisingly, newspapers in Italy waxed lyrical about his impact, with the 27-year-old even receiving a rarely-spotted 10 rating.
Sky Sport gave him an 8.5 and named him the man of the match, while Tuttosport awarded him an 8, declaring that his first touch turned ‘into gold’. The publication jokingly added: “Thank goodness he wasn’t fully fit due to a fever.”
Pulisic was also given an 8 by Corriere dello Sport, who described his brace as “sumptuous” and his performance “stronger than his fever”.
Calciomercato glowingly called him the “right man” to help Milan win the Scudetto.
However, the most effusive praise – and the top marks – came from SempreMilan. The outlet said: “I very rarely do this, but considering the circumstances, the 10 feels appropriate here.
“Milan have struggled massively in this fixture over the years and another disappointing result looked certain, then the No 11 stepped up.”

Christian Pulisic Delighted With Impact
Pulisic is Milan’s most crucial player this campaign, having scored seven goals in nine league appearances, putting him at the top of the charts. He also bagged two more in the Coppa Italia.
His participation on Monday had been in doubt, but the forward was delighted with his display.
“Two days ago, I was truly dead. Today I felt much better. I’m happy to have come here to help the team,” Pulisic told Sky Sport. “Yesterday we didn’t know if I could play, but this morning I felt much better.
“I’m happy with the goals, but the important thing was to win.”
Assistant coach Marco Landucci, standing in for the suspended Massimiliano Allegri, described Pulisic as a “sharpshooter”. He added: “He is a strong player. He’s very calm in the locker room, but on the pitch he’s nasty.”
