Who Fabio Paratici Could Sign And Sell At Fiorentina As Tottenham Departure Confirmed
The transfer guru will officially start his new role in February.
Fabio Paratici will have to wait to get to work after being confirmed as Fiorentina’s new sporting director.
Which Fiorentina Players Fabio Paratici Could Sell
Paratici will officially start on February 4 after Tottenham Hotspur agreed to his request to leave.
The 53-year-old returned to the Premier League club for a second stint in October but wanted to return to his native Italy. It has been confirmed that he will part ways at the end of the current transfer window.
Despite not being in position until next month, Paratici will already be drawing up a list of targets for La Viola, looking ahead to the summer. He could also play a role in their January business, albeit not officially.
Several players have been linked with Fiorentina, but there will also be outgoings.
Chief among them is likely to be Amir Richardson, who has been ostracised since delivering an unauthorised interview with L’Equipe in which he expressed his desire to go. Paris FC are reportedly interested.
Goalkeeper Tommaso Martinelli is likely to leave on loan, either this month or in the summer, with David de Gea now the undisputed first choice between the sticks.
Veteran striker Edin Dzeko is up for sale, with Cagliari, Pisa and Genoa all possible options. Paratici, however, may prefer the 39-year-old to stay until the end of the season.
Pablo Mari’s future is equally uncertain, while Albert Gudmundsson and Dodo are also on the chopping block.
Hans Nicolussi Caviglia and Christian Kouame are wanted by Cagliari and Sampdoria, respectively.
It will fall to Paratici to decide on their futures should they be denied a move this month.
The transfer guru will also be determined to keep Moise Kean at the club, despite links to Aston Villa.

Which Players Fabio Paratici Could Buy For Fiorentina
Under-fire boss Paolo Vanoli has asked for attacking forwards, and Nice’s Jeremie Boga is a target. The winger wants to terminate his contract after being violently attacked by supporters at the end of November.
Fiorentina – and Paratici – will also be keen to strengthen at the back. Brighton’s Diego Coppola and Tottenham’s Radu Dragusin are both on the shortlist, as is Union Berlin’s Diogo Leite.
According to La Nazione, Jaka Bijol and Rodrigo Becao are also of interest.
In midfield, La Viola have looked at Cologne’s Eric Martel and Udinese’s Sandi Lovric.
The incoming sporting director is likely to be hamstrung by the club’s finances, though, after a lavish €90million summer spending spree which has failed to prevent them slipping into a relegation dogfight.
Fabio Paratici’s Full Statement
In a short Tottenham statement, Paratici declared he was stepping away for personal reasons.
“I want to thank Vinai [Venkatesham] and the Board of Tottenham Hotspur for accommodating my desire to return to Italy and join Fiorentina,” he said, via Tottenham’s official club website.
“I have loved my time at the Club. However this opportunity, together with the need to be based in my homeland, has led me to this decision.
“Spurs is a club that is very close to my heart. It has great people working for it, who are as passionate about the project as I am and want to bring sustained success.
“I have no doubt that they will achieve that and I will be watching closely from Italy.”
