Atalanta are reportedly interested in Fulham striker, Rodrigo Muniz, as Ivan Juric looks for a suitable Ademola Lookman replacement.
Will Ademola Lookman Leave Atalanta?
The Serie A side are on the hunt for a new talisman this summer after Mateo Retegui joined Al Qadsiah for $91 million and became the most expensive Italian player of all-time.
Not only did Atalanta’s leading goalscorer from the 2024/25 campaign decide to move away from Bergamo, with Retegui winning the Serie A Golden Boot, La Dea are also set to lose another star forward in Ademola Lookman this summer.
After turning down multiple bids from Inter Milan, Atalanta forced Lookman’s hand into making a huge decision as the Nigerian international publicly expressed his desire to leave the club this summer.
In a recent social media post, Lookman claimed that he has now handed in a transfer request ahead of the 2024/25 season, as the 26-year-old pushes for a switch to Inter.

During his time in Bergamo the tricky forward has become a cult hero, contributing to 75 goals in 118 appearances (52G + 25A) and helping Atalanta win the Europa League in 2024 – becoming the first player to score a hat-trick in the final.
His desire for a move away would cap off a hideous transfer window in Bergamo, losing their beloved manager Gian Piero Gasperini to Roma, leading goal-scorer and brightest spark in Lookman.
All of these departures could heavily impact the clubs’ performance next season, which is highlighted by offshore sportsbooks pricing Atalanta as huge outsiders to win the Serie A title in 2025/26.
With Lookman making his decision to leave public, clubs around Europe are now looking to take advantage as Atalanta may be forced to sell and this could cause difficulties in receiving their asking price – but also when entering negotiations for a replacement.
One potential option for a replacement that has recently caught the headlines is Fulham star, Rodrigo Muniz, who is reportedly hugely admired by Ivan Juric.
Are Atalanta Interested In Rodrigo Muniz?
After Atalanta supporters reacted furiously to Lookman’s transfer request, the club have been forced to divert their attention and focus on players that could fill the Nigerian’s boots.
Rodrigo Muniz has been heavily linked with a move away from Craven Cottage this summer after an impressive run in the Premier League under Marco Silva.
The Brazilian striker joined the club in August 2021 for around $10m and has gone on to make 97 appearances across all competitions – contributing to 29 goals (26G + 3A).
Despite showing signs of quality in a Fulham jersey, Muniz has failed to cement his place as the leading man and played a back-up role to Raul Jimenez for the majority of last season.
Fulham are reportedly unwilling to sell the 24-year-old this summer, especially as Muniz has two-years remaining on his current deal in the English capital (one-year + a club held option for an extra one).
Holding this power is a key factor in negotiations with Atalanta, while Lookman’s situation also swings in Fulham’s favor as the Premier League side know that La Dea will obtain over $40m for the Nigerian striker.
Atalanta will face some stiff competition when trying to bring Muniz in to replace Lookman, as Leeds United are also considering a move for the Brazilian this summer and reports suggest that the striker is keen on staying in the Premier League.
