Giuseppe Commisso Fiorentina: Official Appointment. Continuity, Stability, and Family Control
Florence is entering a new era.
Giuseppe Commisso, son of the late Rocco, is the new president of Viola, starting right away.
The appointment happened during the company’s Board of Directors meeting, where they confirmed Mark Stephan as CEO and Alessandro Ferrari as general manager.
Tonight, they’ll all be in the stands at the Artemio Franchi stadium cheering on the team in the Coppa Italia match against Como.
Giuseppe Commisso is stepping in for his dad, who passed away on January 16, and taking on the role of president.
He has already held some key positions within the company’s governance.
The club officially appointed him the day after Rocco’s memorial mass. During the mass, his son had already spoken as the new head of the club at the end of the service.
Giuseppe and his mom, Catherine, both said that the family wants to stay in charge of Fiorentina.
The club statement also stressed this idea at the end of today’s meeting.
The club says it’s committed to a long-term vision focused on stability, sustainability, and making Fiorentina a big player in national and international soccer.

Right after his appointment, Giuseppe Commisso expressed his thrill at taking over as president of Fiorentina.
He’d like to say that I fully support Mark Stephan and Alessandro Ferrari. Their leadership and management are key to the club’s present and future.
Commisso also liked to thank his mother, Catherine as she’s been appointed to the Board of Directors, sowing that the family is still committed to the same things as Rocco.
He is determined to carry on his father’s legacy and the vision he built for Fiorentina.
They will keep working hard to make the club stronger, while also respecting its values, history, and connection to the city and its fans, just like my father has done until now.
The new Fiorentina’s way starts now and next week Fabio Paratici will take the lead of all football operations.
