Ahead of their opening Group E fixture, we have the Inter predicted XI vs Monterrey in the 2025 Club World Cup.
New head coach Cristian Chivu will get to see his Nerazzurri side in action for the first time. The 2010 treble winner replaced Simone Inzaghi earlier this month.
Chivu will be hoping to erase the memories of the 5-0 Champions League final thrashing by PSG in May. That humbling spelled the end for Inzaghi who left shortly after for the Saudi Pro League.
Now, the Biscione have the chance to go and win the CWC for the first time since 2010. However, Chivu’s charges will need to get off to a positive start against the Mexicans at the Rose Bowl.
The wait is over.

Inter Team News Vs Monterrey
On the eve of the Group E opener, five Inter players trained separately ahead of the Monterrey clash. Yann Bisseck, Hakan Calhanoglu and Piotr Zielinski are all out for the Nerazzurri.
Davide Frattesi won’t be risked as he is still fatigued after a gruelling 2024-25 campaign. Francesco Pio Esposito is also unavailable as he recovers from injury but should feature after the group stages. Assuming Inter progress.
Meanwhile, new summer signing Luis Henrique is pushing to make his debut. However, it’ll likely come from the bench as Marcus Thuram and Lisandro Martinez occupy the attacking berths.
Yann Sommer, Alessandro Bastoni and Federico Dimarco are set to occupy their usual spots in the heart of defence. Dutch full-back Denzel Dumfries is rated 50/50 after he suffered a muscular problem in the adductor.
Will Petar Sucic Start Vs Monterrey?
Summer signing and highly rated midfielder Petar Sucic is primed for his debut in Los Angeles against Monterrey. The Croatian starlet has been compared to fellow countryman Luka Modric.
His performances for the national side earlier this month earned Sucic rave reviews. He was widely regarded as one of European soccer’s hottest properties and he’ll be one to watch at the Rose Bowl.
Sucic’s chances of starting have increased owing to the absence of Hakan Calhanoglu. Sucic can operate in a number of midfield positions and Inter fans can expect to see him play from the off against the Mexicans.
