Kamate Inter debut delivers instant impact
A bold choice from Chivu and Kamate paid his trust helping Inter go through next Coppa Italia phase.
Goals from Bonny and Diouf helped the Nerazzurri win 2-1 and move on to the Coppa Italia semifinals.
The first half at the U-Power Stadium was pretty even, with both coaches making big changes and Inter having a hard time creating chances against Torino’s counters.
Even though Vlasic almost scored and Kamaté set up Bonny for the only goal of the half, it was still a close game. Kulenovic missed a late chance, keeping Inter ahead at halftime.

Inter Torino Coppa Italia win shaped by youth energy
Early in the second half, Diouf doubled Inter’s lead, but then the intensity dropped and Torino pressed forward, eventually scoring through Kulenovic.
Chivu responded by subbing in new players, while Torino cranked up their physical play with a few changes. In the last few minutes, Torino tried to score again, but Inter won 2-1.
Chivu was happy with the performance of the young Cocchi and Kamate. He trained both Cocchi and Kamate in the Inter Primavera, so he knew what they’re capable of.
“We’re well aware of the challenge. These are the kinds of games that require a lot of energy. It was a choice based on who had the energy today. We’ve got to get February right. I’d like to congratulate the two Under-23 players, the Youth Sector managers, and the trainers who helped them prepare. I also want to congratulate Vecchi, the Under-23 coach. He trains young players who can gradually become useful to us, too.”

Christian Chivu also had a chance to talk about the last transfer market. He said that sometimes the solution is closer than anyone can think.
Of course, he admitted that a team can always get better, but at Inter are always talking about what we need, but it doesn’t always work out. The club, he said, really gave it their all, but it didn’t work out.
Kamate stood out for his disciplined play and smart decisions, including earning a tactical yellow card to stop a Torino chance.
He subbed in ten minutes before the end of the game, and the 21-year-old made a strong impression in his debut. He even got his first assist at the senior level.
