Jack Grealish’s Proposed Napoli Transfer Hits Snag

Start

The latest Jack Grealish transfer news has revealed that his proposed move to Napoli has hit a major stumbling block.

Grealish looks destined to leave English Premier League giants Man City this summer. The Three Lions international has been left out of City’s Club World Cup squad.

Instead of travelling to the US, Grealish is trying to navigate his Etihad exit with the new season just eight weeks away. However, the 29-year-old isn’t blessed with a line of potential suitors.

Jack Grealish Transfer News

Last week, it was reported that Napoli were preparing a move for Manchester City star Jack Grealish. His days at the current Club World Cup champions are certainly numbered.

The Azzurri are still very much interested in securing Grealish’s signature. However, Antonio Conte’s side are not willing to match the 29-year-old’s current pay packet.

Having already secured the capture of Kevin De Bruyne on a reported salary of €6million per season, the Serie A champions need to tighten the purse strings somewhat.

A flurry of new personnel is expected at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium this summer. Therefore, the funds reserved for player wages will need to be distributed in a fashion that complements the incoming player’s skillset.

How Much Does Jack Grealish Earn A Week?

The main snag in restricting the fluidity of Jack Grealish’s proposed move to Napoli is his wages. As it stands, Grealish banks €355k per week. That equates to approximately €18million annually.

With the above in mind, there is very little chance of the Azzurri paying Grealish three times as much as De Bruyne. Especially as the England international has found time on the pitch very hard to come by.

In 2024-25, Grealish only made 20 Premier League appearances. He scored just once and provided one assist in England’s elite division.

Since making his move to Manchester in 2021, the left-winger has contributed just 17 goals and 23 assists from 157 outings in all competitions.

Will Jack Grealish Leave Man City On Loan?

The simplest and most viable option would be for Jack Grealish to leave Man City on loan. He still has two years to run on his €355k per week contract.

Therefore, City would likely demand a fairly sizable transfer fee. From Napoli’s perspective, a temporary switch to Naples could suit all parties involved.

The main solution if that was to be the case is that Pep Guardiola’s side still fund 50% of Grealish’s wages. If that was a possibility, the Serie A champions are more likely to thrash out a deal.

It remains to be seen whether Antonio Conte’s side would be willing to sign Grealish on loan. Tottenham, Newcastle and even Real Madrid have been linked with the England midfielder but solid interest is still fairly stagnant.

What Trophies Has Jack Grealish Won?

The best cash out betting sites still firmly indicate that Jack Grealish will depart Man City this summer. During his time at the Etihad, the England man won seven major trophies.

They include a hat-trick of Premier League successes, an FA Cup, the Champions League, Super Cup and Club World Cup. If a move to Napoli were to materialize, he could add the Scudetto to his tally.

For now though, Grealish’s potential switch to Napoli is on ice as his hefty wages prove problematic.
