Juventus had previously attempted to sign Sancho in January, and now reports indicate their interest is renewed.
La Gazzetta dello Sport report how Sancho, who was close to joining Juventus in January, returned to Borussia Dortmund on loan. Dortmund would be happy to retain him permanently but not at Manchester United’s valuation of €50 million, a figure similar to that of Greenwood. According to Gazzetta, Juventus has secured a preliminary yes from Greenwood, but his cost and personal issues pose challenges. Consequently, Juventus is exploring various options, including Sancho.
Giuntoli, Juventus’ Football Director, has revisited the idea of bringing Sancho to Turin. The plan involves acquiring him on a temporary basis with Manchester United covering part of his €8.5 million net salary. While this would be a significant acquisition, it is far from straightforward. Juventus are positioning itself, hoping no other clubs step in to purchase Sancho outright.
Juventus’ interest in Sancho is not new. In January, Giuntoli had nearly secured Sancho on loan with Manchester United agreeing to cover a substantial portion of his wages. Sancho had accepted the move, and Juventus was on board. However, the transfer fell through at the last moment due to Massimiliano Allegri’s reluctance to alter his tactical setup mid-season. At that time, Juventus was performing well, but their form deteriorated starting in late January.
