USMNT Star Willing To Make Major Decision Over Juventus Future As European Giants Show Interest

Start

Weston McKennie could be on his way out of Juventus after talks over an extended contract have stalled and Napoli are keen on the USMNT star.

Will Weston McKennie Sign A New Contract With Juventus?

Following a successful return to Juventus between 2023-2025, Weston McKennie has gained the trust of supporters across Turin and the current manager, Igor Tudor.

The USMNT star signed for the Serie A side on loan in September 2020, before completing a permanent deal in July 2021 – but failed to impress in his second season at the club.

McKennie requested a move away from Juve following the clubs’ 15-point deduction and went out to Leeds United in the 2023 January window, but the American failed to impress in England – contributing with just one assist in 20 appearances.

Many believed his Juve career to be over, but McKennie saw it as a chance to find form once again and win the fans over with strong performances in 2023/24.

Massimiliano Allegri managed to get the best out of his USMNT midfielder, as McKennie made 38 appearances across all competitions and registered 10 assists.

During the 2024/25 campaign, McKennie kept his place in the starting eleven under Thiago Motta and managed to cement it once again after Igor Tudor took the reins for the final 13 matches.

The Italian side were reportedly looking to extend McKennie’s deal, prior to Juventus’ 2025/26 pre-season fixtures, as his deal in Turin is set to expire in June 2026.

However, discussions over an extended deal appeared to have stalled and Juventus are not ruling out a sale this summer, as opposed to letting the American leave for free next summer.

These stalled negotiations have attracted interest from multiple clubs around the globe, including several MLS sides and two Serie A giants –  AC Milan and Napoli.

Are Napoli Interested In Weston Mckennie?

With McKennie’s Juventus future in doubt, both Napoli and AC Milan have reportedly enquired over the asking price and either side could tempt the USMNT star away this summer.

Antonio Conte’s side have already bolstered their squad this summer after winning the title last season, adding Kevin De Bruyne to their roster and being favorites to win the Scudetto on Serie A betting sites.

The Serie A Champions will be looking towards the heart of their team once again next season, after Scott McTominay won the leagues’ MVP award and McKennie could be acquired to play alongside the Scotsman.

Another option for McKennie this summer could be another move within Italy, as AC Milan have also enquired about the former Schalke 04 player.

Massimiliano Allegri took the reins of the Rossoneri ahead of the upcoming season and the Italian is a huge fan of McKennie – getting the best out of him in Turin.
