Juventus Announce Pre-Season Schedule As Igor Tudor’s Side Face Champions League Rivals

Start

Juventus have announced their pre-season schedule ahead of the 2025/26 season and the Serie A side will face Borussia Dortmund.

Who Will Juventus Face In Pre-Season?

The Old Lady will kick off their 2025/26 Serie A campaign against Parma on August 24th at the Allianz Arena, as Igor Tudor looks to bring the Scudetto back to Turin.

Juve have not won Italy’s biggest prize since 2019/20, as Maurizio Sarri clinched the clubs’ 36th league title and extended their lead for the most Scudetto’s won.

Since then, a host of other managers have tried to bring the trophy back to Turin and failed due to a plethora of reasons from poor performances to financial troubles.

Igor Tudor’s 2025/26 line-up will be made clear during the pre-season schedule and the Juve boss will be hoping to build some steam ahead of the opening day, with a trio of pre-season matches scheduled.

Players will return to training on July 24th, beginning slightly later than usual after their Club World Cup campaign and will test the waters against Reggiana on August 2nd.

Reggiana will compete in Serie B next season after finishing 13th in Italy’s second division last year and their meeting with Juve will take place at the Juventus Training Center.

Following this encounter, Igor Tudor will take his side out of the country for an away clash against Champions League side, Borussia Dortmund, as the two meet on August 10th.

The Bundesliga side endured a difficult 2024/25 campaign, finishing fourth in the league and failing to trouble Bayern Munich, who went on to win Germany’s most illustrious prize.

Juve will then end their pre-season schedule with an in-house clash, as the first-team take on Juventus Nex Gen at the Allianz Stadium on August 13th.

This will hand young players a chance to impress ahead of the upcoming campaign, while also giving the likes of Jonathan David a run of fixtures to get up to speed before the season starts.

David joined as a free agent after his contract with Lille expired and Juve fans will be expecting a lot from their new talisman, after the Canadian scored 109 goals in 232 appearances for the French side.

Have Juventus and Borussia Dortmund Played Each Other Before?

The biggest test for Juve during their pre-season encounters is undoubtedly the trip to Germany, facing a Borussia Dortmund side that has a lot to prove this season.

So far, Die Schwarzgelben, have added Jobe Bellingham, Daniel Svensson, Yan Couto and Patrick Drewes on a permanent basis, while also losing a host of star names.

Most notably, Jamie Gittens left the German side to join Chelsea for around $67 million and the Bundesliga giants will be aiming to reinvest this heavily ahead of next season.

Gittens’ move to the Premier League has only strengthened Enzo Maresca’s side, as the Blues are now one of the favorites to win the title on the best betting apps.

Juventus and Borussia Dortmund have met nine times in competitive matches throughout history, with their most recent encounter coming in the 2014/15 Champions League Ro16.

The Italian side won 5-1 on aggregate before going on to reach the final, losing to the infamous Barcelona side which had Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar leading the line.

Interestingly, Juve have played Borussia Dortmund in three European finals, winning both legs of the final meeting in 1993 (during the old UEFA Cup format) – bust losing to the German side in the 1997 Champions League final.
