Juventus are facing a major issue after their dramatic 3-2 win over Bodo/Glimt, as the Bianconeri squad are stuck in Norway due to severe weather concerns.

Juventus Squad Stuck In Norway

The Serie A side have come across a major issue after their Champions League triumph, as Juventus have not left Norway due to concerns around the weather in Bodo.

Luciano Spalletti and his men could not board their scheduled flight back to Turin as the airport was hit with heavy snow between November 25th – 26th.

The 36-time Serie A champions planned to stay in Norway overnight after their Champions League encounter and then head back to Italy at midday on November 26th.

These plans have now been heavily impacted as the airport runways are reportedly frozen over and several flights have already been canceled.

Juve’s flight has now been pushed back an hour and 15 minutes, but this new flight-time is not certain and the Italian side could face further delays.

This delayed return home will put a dampener on what was a successful trip in Europe’s elite competition, with Juventus picking up their first win in the UCL.

Jonathan David was Juventus’ hero in Norway as the Canadian’s 91st minute strike secured a 3-2 victory for the Bianconeri, with Lois Openda and Weston McKennie providing the other goals.

Although this European clash marked David and Openda’s first goals in Europe, Kenan Yildiz was Juventus’ star man as Juventus scored all three goals after the Turkish international’s introduction at half-time.

The 20-year-old has been in the headlines recently as contract negotiations in Turin have failed to progress and Juventus are considering Mason Mount as a possible replacement.

Yildiz’s future in Turin will be at the back of Spalletti’s mind, as the Juventus manager diverts his focus to the upcoming Serie A clash against Cagliari – which could be met with a lack of preparation following issues in Norway.

Bianconeri To Miss Key Training Sessions

Staying in Norway will have huge Repercussions on the Juventus squad, as players will be unable to complete their regular post-match recovery regimes but also face a disturbance to training.

The Bianconeri manager tends to ask his players to attend training the day after a European match, with starters taking part in some light recovery work.

However, this will not be possible for the Bianconeri roster as they remain in Norway and Spalletti will need to decide on the next-steps ahead of the league clash against Cagliari on November 29th.

Spalletti has a reputation for an intense approach to training, being compared to Atletico Madrid manager, Diego Simeone, who has recently been linked with Inter Milan.

The Juventus boss focuses on the most strenuous aspects of a match during the week, before leaving the final day before a match to focus on tactical analysis – which will need to be adjusted as his side miss a day in Turin.

If Juve manage to land in Turin on November 26th, it’s unlikely that Spalletti will use the following day to aid player recovery as his side only have two days to prepare for Cagliari.
