Juventus Looking to Ward Off Andrea Berta and Arsenal By Signing Kenan Yildiz to Bumper Contract Extension

Start

Kenan Yildiz transfer news has placed Arsenal in the frame for his signature, with new sporting director Andrea Berta a known admirer. However, Juventus are looking to fend off their interest by offering him a bumper contract extension.

Juventus have taken considerable strides to refurbish their sporting hierarchy before entering into the transfer window this summer.

Damien Comolli, the new general director, will work in tandem with former legend Giorgio Chiellini — Juve’s new director of football — following the long-awaited departure of Cristiano Giuntoli.

Although former head of scouting Matteo Tognozzi had been touted as one of the leading next Juventus sporting director candidates, he looks set to snub a return to Turin in favor of a role in Arsenal’s boardroom.

With Tognozzi credited for shaping the early careers of some of Serie A’s blossoming talent, he could prove crucial in negotiations for one of the Gunners’ chief targets.

Latest Kenan Yildiz Transfer News Reveals Arsenal Interest

While Juventus are keen to bolster their options with arrivals from front to back, their ability to infiltrate the transfer market rests on how effectively they can sell.

Their season was buoyed by several shrewd short-terms signings, including loan deals for Chelsea’s Renato Veiga, Pierre Kalulu, Francisco Conceição and Kolo Muani — who is pushing to remain at Juventus.

However, the new-look board are under no illusions that Juve’s long-term future can be secured by raising funds for permanent signings, and this may force their hand to offload some of the club’s more lucrative assets.

The latest Kenan Yildiz transfer news suggests the 20-year-old may fall into that bracket, with Arsenal expressing strong interest.

The aforementioned Matteo Tognozzi was responsible for overseeing his rapid transition from promising prospect, to Juve’s crowning jewel for the future.

Should Tognozzi complete his expected switch to Arsenal, he could prove to be a key component in negotiations.

Although the Gunners’ well-documented scramble to sign a striker is their top priority, they are also expected to move for a left winger. Yildiz and Athletic Bilbao’s Nico Williams are their chief targets in that position.

How Much is Kenan Yildiz Worth?

While Yildiz could start to emerge as Arsenal’s number one choice for the left wing position if Tognozzi arrives, Juventus are likely to command a fee that could price them out of a move.

Having already dropped $70 million to make Martin Zubimendi their first signing of the summer, there is only so much the Premier League runners-up have to spend — particularly with a new striker taking precedence.

According to reports in Italy, Juventus believe Yildiz is worth in excess of $100m after proving his worth in stellar breakout season, and with four years left on his contract, the Old Lady will command a nine-figure fee.

Juventus to Offer Kenan Yildiz a New Contract

Juventus believe Yildiz is core to the club’s future, and reflects the values of promoting youth the new board are hoping to reinstate.

The Turkish international racked up 16 goals contributions last season, and by all accounts, it is unlikely the Biaconeri will entertain bids for Yildiz this summer.

They will instead will make an attempt of their own to consolidate his new-found importance in Turin.

Plans include increasing Yildiz’s salary from the €1.5m he currently pockets, to anywhere in the region of €3m-€4m per year, plus performance-related bonuses.

Do Juventus Need to Sell Players?

Juventus are still reeling from a 10-point deduction two seasons ago, following an investigation that revealed false accounting in past transfer dealings.

Their precarious financial position has forced them to be more frugal in recent transfer windows, which saw them maximize the free agent market to their benefit.

However, there is still a need to balance the books as their financial health continues to be scrutinized by league officials.

What this means for the future of Juve’s star players remains to be seen, but they are eager to remain competitive in the transfer market, without having to let go of important talent.

According to cash out betting sites, Juve are fourth favorites to lift the Scudetto for the first time in six years next season.
