Juventus Weigh Up Franck Kessie Offer as Besiktas Discuss Miretti Loan

Juventus are preparing an initial offer for free agent Franck Kessie, while a general agreement is reportedly taking shape between Juventus and Besiktas over a possible Fabio Miretti move.

The two situations haven’t been officially connected by Juventus, but both concern a midfield department that’s been described as overcrowded following a busy summer of incomings.

Juventus have already added Randal Kolo Muani, Kerim Alajbegovic, Guglielmo Vicario, Jhon Lucumi, Jeff Ekhator and Zeki Celik this summer, and are still hoping to add further signings before the window closes.

“In general we’ve had a good transfer market,” head coach Luciano Spalletti said at a press conference over the weekend. “Some areas need a few cosmetic changes, others entire restoration projects.”

Kessie is a free agent following a lucrative spell in Saudi Arabia and is eager to return to Italy, with Juventus attempting to secure a pre-agreement while several Arab clubs also pursue him with substantial offers.

Reports place Kessie’s financial demands at a €5 million salary, plus commissions and a signing-on bonus, with Juventus said to be taking a realistic approach to those terms at Continassa.

Kessie himself is reportedly still taking his time over a decision, which has left the move without a firm timeline despite Juventus’s interest.

A reunion with Frederic Massara is part of the reported appeal of a Juventus move.

Massara and Kessie celebrated a league title together at Milan under Stefano Pioli, and Juventus reportedly view the 29-year-old as an opportunity because of his personality and winning mentality, qualities also appreciated by Spalletti.

McKennie, Miretti, Locatelli, Douglas Luiz, Arthur, Thuram, Koopmeiners and Adzic are all currently available to Spalletti in midfield, meaning Kessie’s possible arrival would come against the backdrop of an already crowded group.

Besiktas Reach General Agreement For Miretti

A general agreement is reported to have been found between Juventus and Besiktas over a transfer for Miretti, with Besiktas going as far as submitting an official loan-with-option-to-buy offer.

Miretti has already spoken directly with Besiktas head coach Vincenzo Italiano and accepted the possibility of playing in the Super Lig, a significant step for a move that had previously been at the discussion stage.

The proposed loan structure isn’t considered the most attractive formula for Juventus, so talks continue even with the broad agreement in place.
