Lazio have not given up on their plan to sign Torino starlet Samuele Ricci and are set to make a new bid this week. The Biancocelesti have identified the 21-year-old as a potential successor for Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, who recently made the switch to Al-Hilal.
Sky Sport Italia’s Gianluca Di Marzio reports that Lazio’s first bid was deemed too low by Torino president Urbano Cairo, and in the coming hours they will resume contacts with the Granata to try to increase their offer.
Torino’s request for the young star is reportedly €30 million, while club sporting director Davide Vagnati reiterated recently that Torino does not need to sell, saying of Ricci:
“His situation is very simple, it is normal that he is being watched: he is a top guy, he is young, he is on the national team’s tour and it is normal that there is attention from clubs. Fortunately, the president does not necessarily need to sell players.”
Lazio, however, do not seem inclined to give up on Ricci, given that the midfield is one of the main areas that Lazio need to strengthen in terms of numbers.
