Mike Maignan’s X-Rated Message To Referee After AC Milan Penalty Drama Revealed
The goalkeeper was furious after Genoa were given a golden chance to win the game.
Mike Maignan delivered a furious X-rated message to the referee during AC Milan’s 1-1 draw with Genoa.
Mike Maignan Complains Over Penalty Decision
Milan snatched a point at the San Siro on Thursday after Nicolae Stanciu missed a late penalty for the visitors.
Lorenzo Colombo had broken the deadlock in the 28th minute, but Massimiliano Allegri’s title chasers hit back just minutes from time, Rafael Leao heading home the crucial equaliser.
However, Genoa were given a golden chance to seal a dramatic victory deep inside stoppage time after Davide Bartesaghi brought down Mikael Ellertsson.
Stanciu stepped up but horribly blazed his attempt high over the crossbar, sparing Milan’s blushes.
The Rossoneri’s players protested vehemently after the penalty was awarded and following the final whistle.
Now, footage of Mike Maignan’s complaints has been shared across social media.
DAZN France shared a clip of the goalkeeper arguing before leaving the pitch, escorted by Adrien Rabiot. In it, Maignan was caught on camera uttering the words “son of a b****” in French.
While it is unclear who Maignan had targeted, journalist Tancredi Palmeri believes it was directed at the referee.
On X, Palmeri said: “DAZN France broadcasts the footage in which Maignan calls referee Mariani a ‘son of a b…’ at the end of the match, as he’s led away by Rabiot who grasps the situation.”
Live on air, the commentator replied with an audible “Oh!” after hearing Maignan’s remark.

Massimiliano Allegri’s Reaction To Genoa Draw
The setback ultimately proved costly for Milan, despite the point moving them up to second place. Inter Milan lead the way at the top of Serie A, three points clear of Allegri’s side, with Napoli also hot on their coattails.
“In football, you get what the result gives you,” said Allegri. “You have to look at the positives, despite a difficult first half. They ran, man-marking [Luka] Modric, we had two or three favourable opportunities to score.
“Then we conceded. In the second half, it was a different story: we increased the intensity, they dropped deeper.
“These are the things we need to mature on. In the course of a season, there are these kinds of games where, by the 91st minute, you have four minutes to play for the win against a team that is in great psychological difficulty.”
He then added: “You can’t expect one game to solve a problem, unless it’s the last.
“We need to improve our mental clarity in bringing the ball close to the goal. In the last two games, we’ve been very good at being balanced, but tonight we lacked patience after 1-0. We became too hasty.”
Meanwhile, Maignan will stay at Milan after performing a surprise contract U-turn.
