Milan and Lazio are among the clubs reportedly looking at Sassuolo’s Andrea Pinamonti ahead of the January transfer window.

Andrea Pinamonti form sparks interest from Milan and Lazio with West Ham also in frame

With the January transfer window on the horizon, the likes of Milan and Lazio are looking for attacking reinforcements.

Pinamonti is in the frame as he has been in fine form for Sassuolo, with four goals in 14 Serie A games already this season.

This is despite a minor injury that has kept the Italy international sidelined in recent weeks.

Sassuolo head coach Fabio Grosso has put his faith in Pinamonti and is receiving an excellent response from him.

Unsurprisingly, Pinamonti’s form has attracted the attention of several clubs in Italy and elsewhere.

Lazio had previously attempted to bring him to the capital and are now trying again, according to Calciomercato.

Up front, Maurizio Sarri hasn’t had much joy with Boulaye Dia and Taty Castellano, who could leave.

Meanwhile, Milan duo Santiago Gimenez and Christopher Nkunku have struggled. Both have also been linked with a move away.

However, both Serie A sides may have to contend with English Premier League side West Ham, added the report.

Fabio Grosso’s glowing Andrea Pinamonti verdict

An Inter academy graduate, Pinamonti was always tipped as a natural finisher. However, he has had to do it the hard way.

He had loan spells at the likes of Frosinone and Genoa, before he began turning promise into consistent numbers with Empoli and then Sassuolo.

Pinamonti struck 13 goals at Empoli in 2021/22, before bagging 12 for Sassuolo in 2023/24, and 11 on loan at Genoa in 2024/25.

The one-cap Italy international is strong in the air, willing to press, and comfortable linking play with his back to goal.

Sassuolo head coach Fabio Grosso has been clear about how central Pinamonti is to the team, praising both his quality and his importance in attack.

“Andrea is one of those classy players we have,” the 2006 World Cup winner said in August.

“So we know all his qualities very well, and he’s definitely our go-to striker.”

With a trusted role, clear service, and confidence from his coach, Pinamonti is in the form of his life.

And as a result, it’s no surprise the January speculation around Pinamonti is building. If the goals keep coming, it will only intensify further.
