Moggi Praises Kolo Muani Signing, Criticizes Juventus Performance

Former Juventus general director Luciano Moggi has offered his thoughts on the club’s recent 2-1 victory over Como in Serie A, praising the acquisition of Randal Kolo Muani while expressing concerns about the team’s overall performance.

Writing in his column for Libero, Moggi commended Juventus sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli for his astute signing of Kolo Muani, stating: “Despite having to navigate financial constraints, Giuntoli has demonstrated great intuition by acquiring a sharpshooter like the Frenchman, who secured the result despite having only half a playable ball in the entire match.”

However, Moggi’s praise for the new signing was tempered by criticism of Juventus’ overall display. He observed: “It’s the only pleasant thing about the evening. Juventus was overwhelmed by Como’s play, which was moving at double speed, while Juventus stuttered, defending for 90 minutes.”

The former director also took aim at manager Thiago Motta, comparing his current tenure unfavorably to his previous role at Bologna. Moggi remarked: “At the moment, what’s missing is the Thiago Motta of Bologna who won while playing beautiful football, while the Juventus version, when he wins (which is rare), does so on the counter-attack and playing poorly.”
