Napoli Plotting Audacious Bid For Fiorentina Star To Fill Romelu Lukaku Void

The latest Moise Kean transfer news has revealed that Napoli are interested in signing the Fiorentina forward this summer. 

Kean was formerly on the Azzurri’s radar but head coach Antonio Conte opted to bring in Udinese’s Lorenzo Lucca on an initial loan deal instead.

Now, Conte is ready to reignite his pursuit of Kean as a replacement for Romelu Lukaku. The Belgian international suffered a thigh strain during the pre-season clash against Olympiacos.

Last week, FootItalia reported that Fiorentina forward Moise Kean was on Newcastle’s radar. That is still very much the case as the Magpies are trying to find a replacement for Alexander Isak.

However, the Toon Army will face competition for his signature in the form of Napoli. The Serie A champions are back in the market for a goal-getter and have cast their eye over Kean.

Last season, only Atalanta’s Mateo Retegui netted more league goals than Kean’s 19 strikes. The Viola star has been tracked by a number of clubs but interest has cooled since his release clause expired in mid-July.

Nonetheless, Antonio Conte’s side is plotting an audacious bid to bring the former Juventus forward to Naples. Kean is expected to cost approximately €70-75million.

Romelu Lukaku Injury Update

The latest Romelu Lukaku injury update has confirmed that the Napoli star will miss the next three months of action. Hence the Azzurri’s quest to replace their star forward asap.

Lukaku suffered a thigh strain whilst taking a shot in the eventual 2-1 friendly win over Olympiacos. The 32-year-old was replaced by Lorenzo Lucca after 33 minutes.

At the time, the problem didn’t appear too bad but after undergoing tests, the diagnosis revealed that Lukaku will be out until at mid-November at the earliest.

Naturally, the news comes as a huge blow to both club and player. It’s the first major injury Lukaku has suffered since moving to the Maradona Stadium in 2024.

Who Else Have Napoli Been Linked With?

Unsurprisingly, a number of big names have been linked to the champions in the last 24-48 hours. Napoli is expected to bid for Tottenham forward Richarlison.

The Brazilian international scored twice on MD1 of the new Premier League season against Burnley on August 16. He already knows Antonio Conte very well, too.

It was the Italian boss who brought the Brazilian to the Lilywhites from Everton in the summer of 2022. Despite their fiery past, Richarlison and Conte are willing to forgive and forget.

Elsewhere, the Scudetto winners are tracking the likes of Rodrio Muniz, Nicolas Jackson, Artem Dovbyk, Rasmus Hojlund and Raheem Sterling.
