The latest Moise Kean transfer news has revealed that Newcastle United are stepping up their interest in the Fiorentina star.

Eddie Howe’s side is resigned to losing Alexander Isak this summer. The Sweden international is trying to force through a move to Liverpool.

Although Isak hasn’t had much success in quitting St James’ Park yet, Howe is actively seeking to bring in a new striker which will hopefully smooth Isak’s eventual exit.

Moise Kean Transfer News

According to FootItalia sources, Fiorentina star Moise Kean is wanted by Newcastle. Although an official approach hasn’t been made to club or player, the Magpies did reach out to his agent for preliminary discussions in June.

That was when Kean’s release clause was still active which had tempted a number of clubs across Europe. However, that has since expired and the Toon Army was confident Alexander Isak would remain on Tyneside.

Nonetheless, that situation has certainly changed and Eddie Howe’s side would be willing to part with a substantial fee to lure Kean to St James’ Park.

Howe believes offering a hefty salary and the guarantee of Champions League soccer could persuade Kean to move back to England. He previously represented Everton but struggled during his time at Goodison Park.

Will Moise Kean Quit Fiorentina?

Owing to Moise Kean’s brilliant 2024-25 campaign, Fiorentina has entertained a number of inquiries for their star player. So far, all have been rebuffed.

The vast majority of interested parties were toying with the idea of matching Kean’s €52million release clause. No clubs offered the fee and that expired in the middle of July.

Now, the Viola holds a stronger grasp over Kean’s long-term future. It’s likely that Stefano Pioli’s side would want to hold out for around €70-75m for the Azzurri international.

From Newcastle’s perspective, they would be willing to meet the required value. Especially if the Premier League side can move Alexander Isak on for approximately €120m.

Naturally, Fiorentina don’t want to part way with the 25-goal forward from last term. In fact, the Serie A side wants him to pen new terms but a potential return to England may be too hard to refuse.

Moise Kean Career Stats

Last season, only Mateo Retegui scored more Serie A goals than Fiorentina’s Moise Kean. The former Juventus man scored 19 goals and provided three assists from 32 appearances.

Kean scored a further six goals in cup competitions to finish up with 25 strikes from a total of 44 outings. Hugely impressive figures for someone who had struggled in Italy.

Throughout his entire club career, Kean has scored 72 times from 267 appearances. Therefore, over a third of those goals have come during his one and only season in Florence.
