Napoli Weigh Up Shock Romelu Lukaku Sale With Striker Offered To Turkish Giants
Lukaku's future in Naples looks in doubt.
Napoli striker Romelu Lukaku has been offered to a Turkish club, according to reports.
Romelu Lukaku Set To Stay At Napoli Despite Transfer Links
The Partenopei have made an approach for Fenerbahce striker Youssef En-Nesyri, as reported by FootItalia.
However, to pave the way for his arrival, the club must first sell at least one player. Shockingly, Lukaku could find himself on the chopping block despite his impressive exploits since arriving in Naples in 2024.
According to TRT Sport, Lukaku’s entourage have in recent days floated the idea of him joining Fenerbahce. Ironically, this would make him a potential replacement for En-Nesyri.
Domenico Tedesco, the Super Lig side’s manager, is said to be desperate to reunite with the Belgian frontman, whom he coached at international level between 2023 and 2025.
For now, Napoli are reluctant to allow him to leave, and Lukaku is likely to stay until at least the end of the season. He will be assessed during the summer, when a final decision on his future will be made.
There could be concerns over his long-term viability as Antonio Conte’s first-choice striker. The 32-year-old is continuing to be eased back to full fitness, having suffered a serious thigh injury against Olympiacos in August.
Lukaku’s return to fitness is imminent after a five-month lay-off, and he has taken part in training.
He also travelled for the Supercoppa Italia in Saudi Arabia, but did not make an appearance off the bench. Napoli are determined not to rush him back too soon, fearing another fitness setback.
Lukaku’s deal is set to run down in June 2027. As a result, Napoli could look for a significant transfer fee in the summer rather than lose him for free.
Napoli Striker Plans Revealed
Napoli are pushing for En-Nesyri. Their first-choice target up front is currently away at the Africa Cup of Nations with Morocco, but his representatives are working to secure him a new club over the coming weeks.
He is likely to leave Turkey this month and has attracted attention from Everton, although the Premier League outfit have not yet wrapped up the deal. This has helped the door open for the Partenopei to swoop.
A loan deal has been proposed, along with an option to buy.
Lorenzo Lucca has played just 585 minutes this season, netting twice, and could be sold to make way for an incoming signing. Noa Lang’s future is equally in doubt, with Fulham, Galatasaray and Besiktas ready to swoop.
