Napoli are pushing to sign Fenerbahce and Morocco striker Youssef En-Nesyri ahead of Everton.
There could be change in the Napoli front line in January amid uncertain futures for Lorenzo Lucca and Noa Lang.
Reports from Italy suggest Conte has earmarked En-Nesyri as a potential deputy for the in-form Rasmus Hojlund.
Why Napoli want Youssef En-Nesyri
With Lorenzo Lucca failing to impress, Antonio Conte is looking elsewhere to lessen Rasmus Hojlund’s workload.
In addition, Napoli can’t stop drawing at present, suggesting they need more of a cutting edge.
Inter’s win against Lecce made them ‘winter champions’, so Conte’s charges have some work to do.
Meanwhile, Youssef En-Nesyri has fallen out of favour at Fenerbahce, who have reportedly sanctioned his exit.
With that in mind, he is now an attainable option for Napoli, and he would bring a lot of qualities too.

Breaking the Lines previously deemed En-Nesyri a ‘devastating’ forward with ‘arguably one of the best leaps in football’.
Meanwhile, Football Talent Scout previously described the reported Napoli target as a ‘pure goalscorer’.
En-Nesyri is currently at the Africa Cup of Nations with Morocco, scoring the winning penalty in the quarter-final against Nigeria.
Everton interest in Youssef En-Nesyri and what happens next
Everton are also keen on Youssef En-Nesyri, with reports suggesting they are looking to land him on loan.
However, they haven’t yet finalized a deal yet, so Napoli sporting director Giovanni Manna is trying to snap him up first.
Everton may only be in mid-table in the English Premier League, but England’s top tier boasts considerable pull and financial muscle.
At the same time, the prospect of joining a Champions League side and Serie A title challenger may appeal more than English mid-table.
Another possible issue is that Napoli are apparently only considering En-Nesyri once a sale happens, so timing could decide everything.
Turkish reports claim Besiktas are showing interest in Lorenzo Lucca, which could help Napoli unlock the En-Nesyri move faster.
