Inter Milan target Nico Paz set an incredible best in Europe record after helping Como thrash Lazio.

Nico Paz Sets New Record This Season

Paz scored twice in a comfortable 3-0 victory in Rome on Monday and has been superb this season. He could even have bagged himself a hat-trick, only to see his first-half penalty saved.

The 21-year-old moved to Italy from Real Madrid in 2024 but has already been tipped to secure a sensational return to the Bernabeu. However, Serie A leaders Inter are also in the race, as reported by FootItalia.

Paz and Real Madrid are understood to have already agreed terms over a summer deal, a €9million buyback clause having been included in his initial switch, while Inter believe there is still time for them to pounce.

Regardless, the wonderkid is likely to have the world at his feet at the end of the season. Numerous other suitors are also understood to be lining up, but Real remain at the front of the queue – for now, at least.

He is a fleet-footed playmaker, capable of operating in tight spaces. Crucially, he also has an eye for goal.

Indeed, his brace against Lazio saw him become the youngest player to score at least eight goals this season in the top five European leagues. Paz has also chalked up an impressive six assists in the top-flight.

His scintillating performances have seen him already surpass his personal scoring record, having netted six times last campaign. Paz is now widely expected to achieve double figures, showcasing his clinical nature.

It is for this very reason that Inter Milan and Real Madrid have gone head-to-head in a transfer dogfight.

Inter Milan Muscle In On Nico Paz Deal

According to Corriere dello Sport, the Inter hierarchy are prepared to fight it out directly with Real for the ace.

The Nerazzuri’s American owners, Oaktree, want to sign a marquee player to strengthen Cristian Chivu’s squad. Paz has been identified as a prime target, under the belief that he will improve the club’s global reach.

Although Paz’s Real Madrid transfer looks a formality at this stage, Inter want to muscle in. They are even said to ‘firmly’ believe they have a chance of luring the player to the San Siro instead.

Either way, speculation will continue to dog Paz for the rest of the season, with the exciting saga to come to a head in the summer. Both clubs have attractive sales pitches, so it will fall to the midfielder to make the final decision.
