Roma are stepping up their efforts to keep Paulo Dybala in 2026, as the Argentine has been targeted by Boca Juniors.

Roma To Offer Paulo Dybala Extended Deal

The Giallorossi have been wary over Dybala’s future for multiple months now, as the Argentine’s deal is set to expire at the end of the 2025/26 season.

Gian Piero Gasperini is yet to get the best out of the Roma star as Dybala has missed seven matches through injury (across all competitions) – accumulating just 675 minutes.

Despite this poor return, Roma are still hoping to tie the Argentinian international down for at least another season and deter any potential suitors.

Gasperini has already set a contingency plan for Dybala’s potential departure, as Roma have been given the green light to sign Joshua Zirkzee in January.

However, Dybala recently cooled rumors over a potential exit with a social media post that reaffirmed his affection for Roma and the club are confident in agreeing a new deal.

During the recent summer transfer window, Dybala was heavily linked with a move to Benfica due to his relationship with Jose Mourinho and the Portuguese coach is keen on signing the Argentine.

Benfica appeared to be the front-runner to land Dybala in 2026, but the Liga Portugal side have recently been overtaken by Argentinian side Boca Juniors.

Boca Juniors Hone In On Dybala

Moving back to Argentina is something that Dybala is hoping to do before his career comes to an end and Boca Juniors are reportedly looking to make this a reality in January.

Dybala’s good friend, Leandro Paredes, is set to play a huge role in convincing the Roma star to sign, but the Argentinian side are concerned over the 32-year-old’s salary demands.

The Roma talisman is said to be earning around €250,000 per week which is one of the highest salaries in Serie A and is likely to be decreased by both the Italian side and Boca Juniors.

Dybala is still regarded as one of the best players in Serie A behind the likes of Kenan Yildiz who was recently described as a phenomenon by David Luiz.

Despite this reputation, Roma are unlikely to offer Dybala the same financial upside in their extension offer, as the Argentine continues to struggle with injuries.

Boca Juniors may be willing to offer Dybala a similar salary if they can sign the 32-year-old for free next year, but the Roma star is reportedly keen on remaining in Italy for another season.
