Roma are reportedly set to crank up the pressure on Manchester United for Joshua Zirkzee ahead of the January transfer window.

The Friedkin ownership has given Roma sporting director Frederic Massara the green light to open talks with United for Zirkzee, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.
The Netherlands international has long been identified as the priority centre-forward target for the Giallorossi.
Indeed, alternative options have effectively been put on standby, according to the report.
The likes of Giacomo Raspadori, Fabio Silva and Yuri Alberto have now slipped down Roma’s wish-list.
Roma’s idea for Zirkzee is a loan with an option – or even a conditional obligation – to buy, with a clause expected to be set at around €35million.

Man United, who signed the Dutchman from Bologna in 2024, are now willing to let him go, according to Italian reports.
The 24-year-old has endured an inconsistent 18 months at Old Trafford and has struggled for game time under Ruben Amorim this season.
In addition, Man United have been linked with Karim Adeyemi. This would push Zirkzee further down the pecking order.
Multiple Italian outlets have reported that Zirkzee has already given his approval to a return to Serie A.
He is keen to relaunch himself ahead of the 2026 World Cup.
Zirkzee also apparently likes the idea of playing under Gian Piero Gasperini, who had admired him since his Atalanta days.
What Roma could expect from Joshua Zirkzee
Former Milan star Ruud Gullit has urged Zirkzee to return to Serie A.
It’s no surprise that Roma have been so heavily linked with the Dutchman. He has some great qualities along with proven credentials in the Italian game.
Zirkzee enjoyed the most successful spell of his career while playing for Bologna.
During his spell with the Rossoblu, he scored 14 times. He also provided nine assists across his two years at the Dall’Ara.
In addition, Zirkzee’s attributes seem to suit Gasperini’s style of play perfectly.
Zirkzee is capable of covering multiple attacking roles, and his link-up play would make Roma’s attack more fluid.
