Ruben Loftus-Cheek has hailed the impact of new Milan head coach Max Allegri after the Rossoneri’s successful pre-season tour in Asia and Australia.
The Serie A giants thrashed A-League side Perth Glory 9-0 on Thursday. Prior to that, the 2025 Coppa Italia finalists hammered Premier League champions Liverpool 4-2 in Hong Kong.
Losing 1-0 to Arsenal in the opening fixture was the only blemish. However, Milan won the pre-arranged penalty shootout in Singapore 6-5.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek On Milan’s Pre-Season Tour
Having started in all three fixtures – and netting against Liverpool – Ruben Loftus-Cheek spoke to La Repubblica and reflected on the trip. Most notably, highlighting the support the club received.
“We experienced much more than just the matches. This trip has strengthened the sense of unity in the AC Milan family. We have so many fans in Asia and Australia. The support we’ve received is incredible, almost unexpected.”
Ruben Loftus-Cheek Says Milan Must Be Cautious After Liverpool Win
Although favored by offshore sportsbooks at -162.5 to finish in the top four in Serie A this season, Ruben Loftus-Cheek has called for caution after the impressive 4-2 win over Liverpool.
It’s easy to get carried away after such a victory but RLC reinforced the fact it’s still pre-season. However, the Englishman says there are plenty of positives from the game.
“We have to be cautious, it’s summer football and we know that well. The fact remains that Liverpool are one of the best teams in the world and it’s always difficult. The positive thing is that we played very well in a really difficult match.”

Champions League Absence Can Benefit Ruben Loftus-Cheek And Milan
After finishing 8th in Serie A last season, Milan won’t be entertaining Champions League soccer this year. In fact, all European competition has been put on ice until at least 2026-27.
As disappointing as that is for the players and supporters, Ruben Loftus-Cheek has taken the positives as it’ll enable himself and his team-mates plenty of rest periods.
“We’ll have time to recover during the week. For me physically, after what I went through last season, it will be precious. What’s certain is that we are Milan, and we want to stay in Europe. We’ll work towards that.”
Ruben Loftus-Cheek Praises Max Allegri
After struggling last season, Loftus-Cheek appears a different animal so far under Max Allegri. The new Milan head coach has returned for his second San Siro stint and already appears to be getting the best out of RLC.
“He’s created healthy competition among us players. Everyone wants a place on the pitch, and we all feel like we can get it if we train and play well.
“Allegri is a great coach and a fantastic person. He knows how to create a great atmosphere: a great atmosphere creates a great team.”
