AC Milan legend Ruud Gullit has named his current favourite Serie A team – and it is not his former club.
The Dutch legend says Milan’s arch-rivals Inter stand out for their style, identity and “vibe” in the way they play.
In Gullit’s exclusive interview with FootItalia, he also assessed Milan’s title chances and explained why Inter impress him most.

Ruud Gullit said Inter’s quality and clear identity are the reason why they are currently his favourite team.
He added that reaching two Champions League finals “says a lot”, suggesting Inter have proved themselves in the biggest games.
“Inter are the team I like most in terms of the way they play,” Gullit told FootItalia.
“There’s a vibe there, they have quality and identity, reaching two Champions League finals says a lot.”
Inter will be pleased with Gullit’s “vibe” comments, a strong compliment in a league where many top sides can look cautious, especially in tight title races.
Inter’s balance is also part of the appeal. Gullit’s comments suggest they combine organisation with players who understand their roles and patterns.
What Ruud Gullit said about Milan and the Serie A title race
Ruud Gullit did not write Milan off, but he was blunt about their level right now.
The former Rossoneri star said Milan are “getting results” without playing brilliantly.
Gullit also claimed there is “not that much quality” in Milan’s squad compared to the strongest sides.
However, he defended Massimiliano Allegri’s approach, saying he understands the limits of his players and has a system that helps them win.
“Milan aren’t playing brilliantly, but they’re getting results,” said Gullit.

“There isn’t that much quality in the AC Milan squad and the coach Allegri understands the limits of his squad and has a system for them that enables them to win.
“I understand why he does that because the confidence grows from winning, the more confidence you get, the better you are going to play, eventually.
“That is the right thing for Milan to do at the moment. That is something we will have to get accustomed to.”
There’s no doubting that Inter look more complete at present – Inter being ‘winter champions’ is proof of this. Meanwhile, Milan are still building.
Nevertheless, with just seven points separating the top five, a lot can change between now and the end of the season in the Scudetto race.
