AC Milan Name Their Asking Price For Santiago Gimenez Amid Strong Premier League Interest
A number of English top-flight sides are keeping tabs on Santiago Gimenez.
Santiago Gimenez looks set to leave AC Milan in January after the Rossoneri revealed their asking price for the Mexican international.
Gimenez has struggled to adapt to Serie A soccer since completing his move to the San Siro from Feyenoord in January 2025.
Although the 24-year-old striker scored six times in 19 appearances last season, Gimenez has just one strike to his name this term.
His failure to find the back of the net on a regular basis means head coach Max Allegri is willing to let him move on. Already, a number of keen suitors are ready to snare Gimenez in the January transfer window.
What Is Santiago Gimenez’s Asking Price?
According to various reports, Santiago Gimenez will be allowed to leave AC Milan for €32million. That is the exact fee the Rossoneri paid Feyenoord for the Mexican star in the last January transfer window.
It is likely there will be room to negotiate but the Serie A giants will want to recoup most of their original outlay. It’s not known whether the Diavolo would allow Gimenez to leave on loan for a small fee.
If that were to be the case, any deal would probably include either an option or obligation to buy at the end of the 2025-26 campaign.
What Clubs Are Interested In Santiago Gimenez?
Even though Santiago Gimenez shut down AC Milan exit talks in the summer, his time at the San Siro is almost certainly up.
Even during the off-season, a number of clubs were interested in signing Gimenez. They included the likes of English Premier League trio Brentford, Sunderland and West Ham.
Interestingly, Niclas Fullkrug has been linked with Milan so there is a possibility of a swap deal. The Hammers forward has also struggled since moving to London in 2024.
As for the Bees and Black Cats, they are expected to be active in January. Both clubs are on the lookout for a new striker and are very much in the race for Gimenez.
Elsewhere, Fenerbahce has been linked with the 24-year-old. Closer to home, Atalanta are also monitoring Gimenez. New head coach Raffaele Palladino is keen to add more firepower to his roster.
Will AC Milan Seek A Replacement?
AC Milan will almost certainly look to replace Santiago Gimenez if he does quit in January.
Although Roma are preparing a bid for Jean-Philippe Mateta, Milan is also interested in the Crystal Palace star.
Mateta is a keen follower of Italian soccer and considers the Rossoneri as one of his favorite clubs. Elsewhere, Ruud Gullit has urged Joshua Zirkzee to return to Serie A.
The Dutch legend insisted his countryman made a mistake in moving to Manchester United. Zirkzee is very much in-demand and would strongly consider a San Siro switch in January.
Another genuine goalscoring option comes in the form of last season’s Capocannoniere winner. Mateo Retegui is seeking a Serie A return just months after moving to the Saudi Pro League.
The former Atalanta man knows all about Milan’s interest after they tried to snare him in the summer. However, the Rossoneri didn’t want to meet La Dea’s lofty demands.
