Real Madrid and Bayern Munich are ready to test Napoli’s Scott McTominay resolve next summer.
European Giants Weigh Up Scott McTominay Signing
McTominay has been nothing short of a revelation since joining from Manchester United in 2024.
His boyhood club agreed to a bargain sale worth around £25million to stave off Financial Fair Play concerns, and Antonio Conte has reaped the rewards, helping to turn the midfielder into one of the world’s best.
The versatile Scot inspired the Partenopei to Serie A glory in his debut campaign in Italy, scoring 12 goals and winning the top-flight’s Most Valuable Player award in the process.
McTominay was also nominated for the Ballon d’Or, finishing 18th on 45 points.
Unsurprisingly, a host of the biggest sides in Europe are weighing up a move, with Bayern and Real frontrunners.
McTominay is under contract until 2028 and would command a significant fee, likely in the region of €70m (£60m).
But according to Gianluca Di Marzio, this would be a fair deal for a player ready to take the next step up.
Speaking via Canale8, the transfer expert provided an update on McTominay’s future. He said: “He is a Bayern Munich or Real Madrid-level player.
“The better he continues to perform, the more big European clubs could come calling in the summer. I wouldn’t be surprised if a club of that calibre comes in for him in the summer.
“For Napoli, he is priceless. For me, he is worth about €70m.”
Newcastle also wanted McTominay this month, but a concrete bid has not materialised.

Napoli Set To Offer New Contract
A diligent professional, McTominay has shown no signs of being distracted by the speculation. This season, he has scored eight goals and registered four assists, playing a crucial role in Napoli’s Scudetto defence.
He made the headlines after his two-goal heroics against Inter Milan on January 11, scoring both of his side’s goals to seal an invaluable point in the din of the San Siro.
His all-round display saw him top the charts for the most shots (four), interceptions (four) and distance covered for Napoli. He was also second among his team-mates for touches inside the box and duels won.
Post-match, Naples outlet Il Napolista sang his praises, warmly dubbing him ‘Scott McKing’.
Keen to head off likely competition for his signature next summer, Napoli could hand him a new contract.
According to Il Mattino, an attempt will be made to tie him down until 2030, along with a salary increase. There is an awareness, however, that ‘many clubs’ will be knocking on his door.
