Napoli Head Coach Antonio Conte Says Scott McTominay Is A ‘Complete Player’

Start

According to Antonio Conte, the Scott McTominay stats indicate he is a ‘complete player’ since moving to Napoli in August.

The former Man United midfielder has been instrumental for the Azzurri in recent weeks. As it stands, Conte’s charges lead the Serie A standings by three points over second-placed Inter.

On GW35, the Ciucciarelli visit relegation-threatened Lecce. Another victory will put Napoli on the cusp of their second Scudetto in three seasons.

As it stands, the Azzurri’s fate is very much in their own hands. If they win their remaining four games, the title will be heading back to Naples.

Antonio Conte On Scott McTominay

McTominay is clearly much stronger now than when he arrived,” said Conte at the pre-match press conference ahead of Saturday’s clash with Lecce.

He also feels more complete and knowledgeable and he’s reaching a key stage in his career where he needs to decide his direction.

He never had a primary role at Man United, while here we gave him one. He’s worked hard and now he’s a complete player.

“His improvement has been shared by the whole team. Otherwise, it would be hard to explain how we’ve earned 74 points.”

Scott McTominay Stats For Napoli

The Scott McTominay stats since arriving at Napoli have been hugely impressive. In his last three Serie A games alone, the Scotland international has netted an impressive five goals.

Overall in 2024-25, McTominay has netted 12 times and provided four assists across all competitions. That return is the highest the midfield maestro can boast across a single season in his pro soccer career.

Not only is McTominay demonstrating a vital scoring touch, his goals have been crucial as the Azzurri close in on the Serie A title.

Earlier this week, McTominay’s nickname was revealed after his heroics this season. The 28-year-old continues to go from strength-to-strength and he’ll be the toast of Naples if he can lead Napoli to their fourth Scudetto.
