Henrikh Mkhitaryan Drops Retirement Bombshell and Dismisses Any Possibility Of Saudi Arabia Move

Start

Henrikh Mkhitaryan has revealed when he will retire in a recent interview and dismissed any chances of a move to Saudi Arabia.

Will Henrikh Mkhitaryan Retire In 2025?

During his illustrious career, Mkhitaryan has made 723 appearances for eight different clubs, contributing to 334 goals (181G + 153A) – with 146 of these appearances coming for Inter.

At 36-years-old, the Armenian international has entered the latter stages of a professional soccer players’ career and Inter may not be looking for a fresh face in midfield.

Cristian Chivu will be looking to implement his mark on the side immediately and Inter are already interested in signing Atalanta midfielder, Ederson, this summer.

The Inter Milan star has dived into his future in a recent interview during the Italian sides’ Club World Cup campaign and revealed his latest decision over retirement.

Mkhitaryan said: “Have I decided when to quit? I said this is the most exhausting season of my life, with three competitions. I don’t know how much longer I’ll play.

“I’m not ruling anything out, but I know I still want to be on the field. I have one year left on my contract with Inter. If they don’t kick me out, I’m staying. I don’t want to retire with the regret of having done it too soon.”

Would Mkhitaryan Leave Inter?

With one-year remaining on his current deal, the former Manchester United star is considering his options and appears to be happy in Milan at this current moment in time.

The Italian side are favorites to win the league title on Serie A betting sites and Mkhitaryan would be a crucial player if the Nerazzurri do push for the Scudetto next year.

Many players have ended their careers in countries like the United States and Saudi Arabia, with the likes of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo both playing out their careers away from Europe.

However, despite some reports over a move to Saudi Arabia, the Armenian has ended any talks over a move and believes he would leave the sport completely once his time with Inter is complete.

“After Inter, I’m done. Moreover, I don’t want to lower the level. I won’t go back to playing in Armenia and destinations like Saudi Arabia don’t interest me. With all due respect, I love football for the game, not for money.

“When I wake up, I want to train and show what I’m worth. After football? Today I say I’d like to leave the football world—but never say never. I’ll need time to reflect and rest, with my family.”
