Former AC Milan and Italy manager, Arrigo Sacchi, has made a bold prediction for his Serie A Golden Boot winner, while also handing huge praise to Napoli.
Who Does Arrigo Sacchi Think Will Win Serie A Golden Boot?
The 79-year-old is undoubtedly one of the most iconic names in Italian soccer, managing AC Milan, Parma and the Italian national side during his managerial career.
Sacchi’s most notable spell came with the Rossoneri between 1987-1991, guiding Milan to a Serie A title in his opening season, before winning consecutive European Champion Clubs’ Cups in the next two campaigns.
Overall, the Italian took charge of 196 matches for Milan, winning 108, drawing 58 and losing 30, before parting ways with the club to take the reins at Atletico Madrid.
A few years later, Sacchi became Italian national team manager and guided the Azzurri to the 2004 World Cup final but suffered a 3-2 defeat against Brazil.
His time with the Azzurri came to an end after a shocking group stage exit at Euro 96′ and he returned to AC Milan, failing to live up to his previous standards.
Now, Arrigo Sacchi is enjoying his time away from the sport and is a huge supporter of Italian soccer, keeping up-to-date with all the Serie A action.
With the 2025/26 campaign underway, fans are making their predictions from the league champions to the Golden Boot winner – with Sacchi making a bold prediction for the league’s top-scorer.
Sacchi said: “I’m betting on Kean, as long as Fiorentina play to his strengths and he makes himself available.”
The former AC Milan manager was also keen to give a shout-out to Juventus striker, Dusan Vlahovic, who he believes can compete for the Golden Boot if Tudor opts to utilize the Serbian.
Sacchi added: “I don’t know who Tudor will choose, but I know who I would choose. I’d say Vlahovic because he knows the Italian league, he doesn’t need to adapt, and in my opinion, he also wants to show that he is a good centre-forward.”
Which Serie A Side Had The Best Summer Transfer Window?
The summer transfer window saw a host of changes in Serie A, with last season’s top-scorer, Mateo Retegui, leaving Atalanta to complete a Saudi Arabian switch and huge names like Christopher Nkunku joining the league.
When looking into which Serie A team spent the most money, it’s no surprise that AC Milan take the crown after finishing eighth last season and trying to back new manager, Massimiliano Allegri.
However, despite the Rossoneri’s expenditure, Arrigo Sacchi believes that it was actually last season’s champions that made the shrewdest move this summer.
When asked about which team had the best transfer window, Sacchi said: “Without a doubt, Napoli. They’ve signed players who fit the way the coach wants to play. That’s how it should be done.
“The only unknown element is their double commitment. The squad is big and can take on both the league and Champions League, but international matches are like leeches: They suck the blood out of you, you lack energy in your legs and in your mind.
“De Bruyne is a phenomenon, he’s already shown that at Manchester City, but he’s also a serious professional and a leader.”
Antonio Conte’s side spent €115 million on some new faces this summer, however, De Bruyne made his move to Naples as a free agent after his Manchester City contract came to an end.
