According to the latest Serie A transfer news, Bologna is considering joining the race for Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

Head coach Vincenzo Italiano is keen to increase his attacking options ahead of the 2025-26 season. That despite legendary forward Ciro Immobile joining on a free transfer from Besiktas earlier this summer.

Calvert-Lewin recently sacked his agent in order to handle his own negotiations to find a new club. FootItalia sources said that the 28-year-old free agent would not rule out a Serie A switch.

Serie A Transfer News

In June, we reported that Roma boss Gian Piero Gasperini identified Dominic Calvert-Lewin as a potential replacement for Tammy Abraham.

Gasperini wasn’t able to negotiate a successful deal with Calvert-Lewin’s entourage so instead signed Evan Ferguson. The Ireland international penned a one-year loan deal with an option to buy.

That left Calvert-Lewin still seeking a new venture having quit Everton at the end of his contract in June. Naturally, interest has been abundant for the 28-year-old and Bologna are throwing their name into the mix.

Would Dominic Calvert-Lewin Consider Bologna Move?

Dominic Calvert-Lewin certainly has plenty of admirers and Bologna are the latest side who are ready to make their move for the striker.

The Rossoblu – who are +600 with offshore sportsbooks to finish in the top four this season – believe that dealing directly with Calvert-Lewin could help persuade the former England man his future lies in Italy.

Vincenzo Italiano’s men can offer the 28-year-old Europa League soccer after winning the 2024-25 Coppa Italia. That in itself would be a huge draw for DCL.

Although competition for places up top is plentiful, Calvert-Lewin suits Italiano’s attacking style of play and would easily adapt to his methods.

That in itself should provide a purposeful incentive to make the switch. A number of British players have also found success in Serie A so if Italiano can offer the right terms, Calvert-Lewin would certainly consider signing.

What Other Clubs Are Interested In Dominic Calvert-Lewin?

Once it was confirmed that Dominic Calvert-Lewin would be leaving Everton, a whole host of English Premier League sides were immediately linked with him.

As it stands, Leeds, Man United and Newcastle are all vying for his signature. The Whites have their eye on a number of targets and Calvert-Lewin would almost certainly not be a regular starter at Old Trafford.

Meanwhile, the Magpies have been snubbed by a number of stars this summer. With Callum Wilson gone and Alexander Isak likely to follow suit, the 28-year-old would have plenty of game time at St James’ Park.

However, Calvert-Lewin would welcome the opportunity to hone his skills on the continent and with someone as reputable as Vincenzo Italiano interested in his services, a move to Bologna could be the perfect fit.
