The latest Serie A transfer news has revealed that AC Milan are plotting a winter bid for Roma striker Artem Dovbyk.
Milan are currently top of Serie A having won four of their opening five games of the 2025-26 season. The Rossoneri’s most recent victory came on MD5 against champions Napoli.
Now, Max Allegri wants to increase his attacking options to challenge for the Scudetto and believes Dovbyk would fit the bill.
Serie A Transfer News
It remains to be seen whether Roma would entertain a bid for striker Artem Dovbyk from a Serie A rival. However, Milan are likely to test their resolve.
English Premier League strugglers West Ham have also been linked with the Ukrainian. As it stands, its understood that Dovbyk would prefer to stay in Italy.
In fact, Giallorossi head coach Gian Piero Gasperini tried to offload the 28-year-old in the summer to raise extra funds. Nonetheless, a move failed to materialize.
Gasperini may try to sell Dovbyk again in January and the Rossoneri are ready to pounce if he does become available again. For now, the Diavolo will monitor his progress over the coming months.
Who Else Could AC Milan Target In January?
Artem Dovbyk isn’t the only player on Milan’s radar. Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski has emerged as a top target but he would only move in the summer upon the expiry of his contract.
With that said, if Lewandowski does decide to quit Barca, he could potentially agree a pre-contract with Max Allegri’s side in the winter transfer window.
Elsewhere, Victor Boniface was close to moving to the San Siro in the summer but the Rossoneri were deterred by his injury problems. However, the Nigerian remains on their shortlist.
Another possibility is Dusan Vlahovic. The Juventus star is almost certain to leave the Allianz Stadium in the coming months. The only issue would be affording the Serb’s huge salary.
AC Milan’s Aims For 2025-26
After a hugely underwhelming 2024-25 campaign, Milan have made a very impressive start to the new season. Having lost to newly-promoted Cremonese on MD1, the Rossoneri have won five games on the bounce in all competitions.
The Diavolo have kept four clean sheets and the only goal conceded since mid-August was against champions Napoli on MD5. With that in mind, head coach Max Allegri’s minimum aim must be a top four finish.
However, there is already plenty of evidence to suggest a title push is not out of the realm of possibility. Granted, there is a long way to go but Milan are looking like a different animal this season.
Before the 2025-26 campaign got underway, Allegri said that a push for UCL soccer is the aim. But even now, he must be thinking beyond that from what he has seen so far on the pitch. And adding a striker such as Artem Dovbyk could prove a masterstroke.
