Inter Milan are reportedly interested in signing Bayern Munich star, Joao Palhinha, as the Bundesliga side have set a $35 million asking price for the Portuguese midfielder.
Why Do Bayern Want To Sell Joao Palhinha?
The former Fulham midfielder left the Premier League to complete his dream move to Bayern Munich in July 2024, after a move in the previous transfer window failed to materialize.
Joining for around $60m, Palhinha was expected to become a stalwart in the heart of midfielder, racking up 68 appearances in the Premier League and cementing a place in the Portuguese national side.
However, his debut season in Germany failed to live up to expectations, as the 30-year-old suffered with multiple injury issues – making just six starts in the Bundesliga and two in the Champions League.
Overall the former Sporting Lisbon player appeared 25 times across all competitions, accumulating 986 minutes and failing to become a regular member under Vincent Kompany.
Bayern went on to win the Bundesliga title, being favorites to do so again next year on the best betting apps and amplified how Palhinha is not an invaluable member in Munich.
Palhinha still has three-years remaining on his deal in Germany, however, Bayern are reportedly willing to cut their losses on the 30-year-old this summer and accept around $35m – attracting interest from a host of European sides.

One club that has been linked with a move for is Serie A giants, Inter Milan, who are looking to improve on their underwhelming 2024/25 campaign.
Tobi Altschaffl, chief reporter for Sport Bild, revealed that the Nerazzurri are willing to negotiate with Bayern and land a deal at around $30-35m this summer.
This may be a vital move for Cristian Chivu’s side this summer, as Hakan Calhanoglu, who has been the heart of Inter’s midfield in recent seasons, is rumored to be leaving.
The Turkish international was publicly called out by club captain, Lautaro Martinez, and has been linked with a move back to Turkey by joining Galatasaray.
Transfer activity has been a hot topic for the Serie A side this summer and Inter have been linked with a list of star names this summer including Bryan Mbeumo after Manchester United continue to struggle in negotiations with Brentford.
So far, Inter have already signed Luis Henrique, Petar Sucic, Nicola Zalewski and Ange-Yoan Bonny, as Chivu looks to hit the ground running in his opening season as Inter boss.
The Serie A side are set to enter negotiations for Palhinha in the coming days, with the hopes of bringing the Portuguese star in before the opening league clash against Torino.
