Inter Ready To Swoop In For Premier League Star As Manchester United Continue To Dwindle In Negotiations

Start

Inter are reportedly ready to swoop in for Bryan Mbeumo as Manchester United are yet to meet Brentford’s demands for the Cameroonian.

Why Has Bryan Mbeumo Not Signed For Manchester United?

Manchester United looked to be on their way to landing Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo in the opening day of this summer transfer window, but negotiations over a deal for the Brentford star have failed to progress.

The Red Devils have submitted two bids for the 25-year-old, which have both been rejected by Brentford, as the Bees are reportedly unwilling to budge on their $70 million asking price.

At this current moment in time, United are trying to negotiate a lower price and find any excess funds, which are reliant on multiple departures this summer.

Jadon Sancho, Marcus Rashford, Antony and Alejandro Garnacho have all been linked with a move away from the club this summer, with Napoli attempting to make a bid for Garnacho in the coming days.

No concrete moves have been made for the quartet of players, but Sancho is heavily linked with Serie A move and Rashford has attracted interest from Barcelona.

Failing to make these sales would leave United in a tricky position financially and make any additional signings unlikely, which would be a disastrous start to their 2025/26 campaign after finishing 15th in the Premier League last season.

All of this has led to the possibility of Mbeumo not making a move to Manchester, despite that being his preference and Inter are reportedly eyeing up the idea of hijacking the deal.

Are Inter Going To Sign Bryan Mbeumo?

Cristian Chivu has enjoyed a strong opening to his first summer transfer window as Inter manager, as the Romanian replaced Simone Inzaghi after the Italian was dismissed by the Nerazzurri.

The Serie A side have added Luis Henrique, Petar Sucic, Nicola Zalewski and Ange-Yoan Bonny to their roster already – with plans of adding further quality already in the works.

Some older and unwanted players have also left the club, with Marko Arnautovic and Joaquin Correa both leaving the Italian side due to an expired contract.

This action comes at a crucial time for Inter, as despite being favorites to win the league title on Serie A betting sites, the failure to do so last season will boost the teams around them.

At this current moment in time, Inter have not made any contact with Brentford over a move for Bryan Mbeumo, however, the Bees may be willing to accept a lower fee than the $70m if the Cameroonian moves away from England.

The 25-year-old has become a fan favorite during his time in the English capital, making 242 appearances for the Bees and contributing to 121 goals (70G + 51A).

Mbeumo also achieved his most prolific tally in the Premier League last season, scoring 20 goals for the first time in his career and contributing with another eight assists.
