Inter Milan are reportedly interested in Ferran Torres, after Marcus Rashford’s move to Barcelona has forced the Spaniard out of Hansi Flick’s plans.
Why Is Ferran Torres Leaving Barcelona?
The Spanish international has been linked with a move away from Barcelona during this summer window, with rumors of an exit only increasing since Marcus Rashford’s imminent arrival.
Hansi Flick’s side have reportedly agreed a loan with an option to buy deal with Manchester United and the English international has arrived in Spain to complete a medical.
Now, Torres could be on his way out of the Nou Camp, playing second-fiddle to the likes of Lamine Yamal, Raphinha, Robert Lewandowski and now, Marcus Rashford.
Torres joined the Spanish giants in January 2022 for around $62 million (plus $10m in add-ons) and has gone on to make 158 appearances for the La Liga champions.
Contributing to 64 goals in the process, the 25-year-old has helped Barca win two La Liga titles and two Copa del Ray trophies, while also winning Euro 2024 with the Spanish national team.
During the 2024/25 season, Torres made 45 appearances across all competitions, but only started 12 La Liga matches and three in the Champions League.
Failing to become a regular starter under Hansi Flick has made a possible exit seem increasingly more likely and Barcelona are favorites to win the league title once again on the best betting apps – meaning they are not reliant on the Spanish forward.
Torres’ deal in Barcelona is set to expire in June 2027, meaning Hansi Flick will be able to request a higher fee for the Spanish star and will not be pushed into a panic sale.
Multiple clubs around the globe are said to be interested in signing Torres this summer, with a return to the Premier League being rumored and also a switch to Italy with Inter Milan.
Will Inter Milan Sign Ferran Torres?
Cristian Chivu will take the reins of the Nerazzurri during the 2025/26 season, after Simone Inzaghi parted ways with the club to become the head coach at Al Hilal.
The Italian side have added a host of star names already this summer, signing Luis Henrique, Petar Sucic, Nicola Zalewski and Ange-Yoan Bonny.
Inter’s squad could be weakened in the coming days, as Hakan Calhanoglu continues to be linked with a move away from the club and returning to Turkey.
In recent weeks, the blue and black side of Milan have been linked with Ademola Lookman, but are reportedly stalling in negotiations after finding out how much Atalanta want for Lookman.
Should this deal fail to materialize, then the Nerazzurri will divert their attention to other options and may submit a bid for Ferran Torres, who has never played in Serie A.
No official move has been made for the 25-year-old and Barcelona will be focusing on completing the signing of Marcus Rashford, who is set to join up with the squad in the coming days.
