Juventus are reportedly interested in signing Manchester United star, Kobbie Mainoo, after the youngster has fallen out of favor under Ruben Amorim.
Will Manchester United Sell Kobbie Mainoo?
The English international has been rumored with a move away from Old Trafford this summer, as his playing time under Ruben Amorim dwindled in comparison to his action under Erik ten Hag.
During the 2024/25 season, Mainoo started every league match prior to Amorim’s arrival and suffered a muscular injury that kept him out of action in the four games prior to Amorim’s first Premier League match against Ipswich in November.
His main exclusion came in the Europa League, as Manchester United were beaten by Tottenham in the final and Mainoo started just one match – playing just one minute in the final.
Appearing for just one minute in the biggest match of United’s season showcased how Amorim does not see Mainoo as a regular started in the new 3-4-3 system and sparked rumors of a possible exit.
The 20-year-old has made 72 appearances for the Red Devils since debuting in February 2023 and put in a man of the match performance during United’s FA Cup final victory over Manchester City in 2024.
Mainoo currently has two-years remaining on his current deal in Manchester and negotiations over an improved contract have failed to materialize despite talks over an extension.
Following the Europa League final, a host of clubs have reportedly shown interest in the Carrington academy graduate, with the likes of Chelsea and Juventus being favorites on the best betting apps.
Are Juventus Interested In Kobbie Mainoo?
As previously mentioned, Juventus are favorites to sign Mainoo this summer and the Serie A side are looking to strengthen after Igor Tudor was appointed on a permanent basis.
The Croatian manager took over following Thiago Motta’s departure and went on to manage nine Serie A games, winning five, drawing three and only losing one.
This strong end to the season secured Champions League football for the Old Lady and Juve are now on the hunt for some star names, while also offloading several players.
Dusan Vlahovic, Douglas Luiz and Timothy Weah are all set to leave the club and Juventus are reportedly continuing their talks with PSG for a deal involving Randal Kolo Muani.
It appears that Juve are prioritising the situation involving Kolo Muani and Vlahovic, however, the Italian side may diver their attention to Mainoo in the coming days.
The Red Devils are reportedly interested in bring Douglas Luiz to Manchester this summer, which could involve a potential swap for Jadon Sancho or possibly Mainoo.
Sancho is set to leave the club this summer after a torrid time in Manchester and Juve are the front-runners to land the former Borussia Dortmund star.
No contact has been made between Juventus and Manchester United over a deal involving Mainoo, however, negotiations could escalate if Juve begins their huge exodus.
