Sky Sport Italia report that Paolo Vanoli is almost certain to take over at Torino, replacing Ivan Juric who is set to depart from the club. Gianluca Di Marzio reports that Venezia coach Vanoli has been Torino’s top choice for some time now, and is now on the verge of being appointed.
Vanoli’s appointment comes at a crucial time as Torino are still in contention for a spot in the Europa Conference League next season. The team’s qualification hinges on Fiorentina’s victory in the Conference League. Vanoli, meanwhile, is currently leading Venezia in the Serie B playoffs, aiming for promotion to Serie A.
Born in 1972, Vanoli has been at the helm of Venezia since the middle of last season. His coaching resume includes a stint as head coach of Spartak Moscow, a technical collaborator for Inter under Antonio Conte during their title-winning campaign, and an assistant coach at Chelsea.
