The latest Yunus Musah transfer update has revealed that West Ham have joined the race for the USMNT star.
Musah had been strongly linked with Napoli but talks with the Serie A winners have cooled in recent weeks. Now, the English Premier League side are set to launch an approach for the Milan midfielder.
Head coach Graham Potter is keen to add reinforcements to his roster after a largely disappointing 2024-25 campaign and views Musah as a perfect candidate to take the Londoners to the next level.
Igli Tare On Yunus Musah’s Milan Future
On Wednesday, Milan sporting director Igli Tare said that Yunus Musah will not fit into the style of play that head coach Max Allegri wants to adopt.
“I consider Musah an excellent player, but we are looking for profiles with characteristics that fit the project we have with coach Allegri. We are seeking deep-lying midfielders for a three-man midfield.
“Musah doesn’t have these characteristics. He can play in a two or three-man midfield but with different characteristics. This is the real reason why we want to do something different.”
It’s likely that the USMNT star has played his last game for the Rossoneri. The safest online betting sites believe that Musah will move on the summer and consider West Ham as one of the favorites to sign him.
Will Yunus Musah Move To West Ham?
A potential transfer to West Ham is a very attractive option for Yunus Musah. The 22-year-old was actually part of Arsenal’s academy between 2012-2019. He also played for England youth teams up to the age of 18.
Therefore, he will have a solid understanding of how soccer is played in Blighty. Although he struggled somewhat at Milan last season, Musah is still widely regarded as one of the best midfield talents on the continent.
The Hammers are looking to increase their options in the middle of the field and Musah has the attributes and characteristics that head coach Graham Potter desires.
In terms of a transfer fee, Musah is well within the Londoners budget. It’s understood that Milan would part ways with the USMNT star for approximately €25million.
Musah would likely favor a move to the English capital where he could get his career back on track. He would become a key member of the roster and have the chance to prove himself in the Premier League.
Why Have Yunus Musah’s Talks With Napoli Stalled?
Earlier this month, Fabrizio Romano confirmed that Napoli talks with Milan for Yunus Musah were ‘well underway.’ However, a disagreement over the transfer fee saw the deal stall.
The Azzurri were not happy with the way negotiations went with the Rossoneri either. Antonio Conte’s side offered €25m includng bonuses which was initially agreed.
Then, the Diavolo insisted that Napoli pay €25m up front then include add-ons. Something of which Conte was not happy to do.
Furthermore, midfielder Frank Anguissa has committed his future to the champions. The Cameroon international looked destined to leave Naples but will be part of the 2025-26 roster.
