Roma and Milan want Julian Weigl

Italian sides AC Milan and Roma are interested in igning Benfica midfielder Julian Weigl this summer, according to a report. According to German newspaper Bild both clubs are in the race to sign the former Borussia Dortmund man.

Milan are set to lose Franck Kessie in the summer with reports linking him with a move to Spanish side Barcelona. It’s suggested Milan management are moving quickly in the coming months to try and find his replacement with Renato Sanches also strongly linked.

Weigl disappointed in the Bundesliga but has rediscovered his form in Portugal scoring 3 goals and 5 assists 37 appearances for them so far this season.

his current contract with the Portuguese giants runs until 2024 but he could leave Benfica for an offer of around €20m.

Roma are also following the player as José Mourinho is looking to add physicality to the Giallorossi midfield.
