Calciomercato report how Balotelli’s time at Genoa appears to be coming to an end, having made just six appearances totalling 56 minutes since his arrival in October as Andrea Pinamonti’s backup. The 34-year-old has not featured in Genoa’s last six league matches under manager Patrick Vieira, signalling a clear fall from favour.
Genoa’s sporting director Ottolini recently confirmed the club’s intention to find a suitable solution for Balotelli, stating, “We’ll look for an appropriate solution for everyone, a place where he can go to play.”
While Balotelli has reportedly received offers from Saudi Arabia, Brazil (Corinthians), Japan, Australia, the United Arab Emirates, and South Korea – all of which he has previously turned down – a new opportunity has emerged closer to home.
According to recent reports, Venezia have initiated contact with Balotelli’s representatives. The Venetian club are in need of a striker following the imminent departure of Joel Pohjanpalo to Palermo, with the Finnish forward having already completed his medical with the Sicilian side.
