Here at FootItalia, we have the Lens vs Roma preview, team news and prediction ahead of Saturday’s friendly clash.
The Serie A side currently boasts a 100% win record in pre-season. Newly appointed head coach Gian Piero Gasperini will hope that record stays in tact in France.
Meanwhile, the Ligue 1 side has also had an excellent summer period so far. Pierre Sage’s men are unbeaten and most recently ran out 3-1 winners over English Premier League side Wolves.

Lens Vs Roma Preview
Roma have been lethal so far and in particular, their summer signing from Brighton has been the main factor behind that. On his debut against Serie D minnows Unipomezia, Evan Ferguson scored four goals in a 9-0 rout.
The 20-year-old striker followed that up by netting the only goal of the game against Kaiserslautern last Saturday. Ferguson then scored his 6th non-competitive Giallorossi goal in a lowkey 3-0 win over Cannes on Thursday.
Against stronger opposition, Ferguson can expect a much sterner test but he has certainly made a great introduction so far to the Stadio Olimpico faithful.
Elsewhere, summer signings Wesley Franca, Neil El Aynaoui and Devis Vasquez all gained valuable minutes against the French fourth-tier side. Even Artem Dovbyk netted against Cannes.
The Ukrainian international has been put up for sale but will likely feature against Pierre Sage’s men. Head coach Gian Piero Gasperini is expected to rotate his starting XI at the Stade Bollaert-Delelis and will want to maintain his winning streak.
Lens comes into the fixture off the back two draws and two wins this summer. After finishing 8th in Ligue 1 last season, the French side will be a tough nut to crack. Interestingly, this will be the first meeting between the two sides.

Lens Team News
So far this summer, Lens have welcomed eight new additions who will all be hoping for a run out on Saturday. Former Inter striker Martin Satriano is one of them and the Uruguayan is yet to score against Roma.
On the injury front, Remy Lascary will miss out but other than that, head coach Pierre Sage has a full roster to pick from.
Lens Predicted XI: Gurtner; Udol, Sarr, Baidoo, Aguilar; Thomasson, Sylla, Machado; Bermont, Sotoca; Satriano
Roma Team News
Evan Ferguson’s Golden Boot odds have been shortened on Serie A betting sites after lashing home six times in three outings. The 20-year-old is expected to start after coming off the bench against Cannes last time out.
Exciting new right-back Wesley Franca will also be pushing hard to make the starting line-up. However, it’s likely he’ll be unleashed in the second-half.
Roma Predicted XI: Svilar; Çelik, Mancini, Ndicka; Rensch, Cristante, Kone, Angeliño; Soulè, Pisilli; Ferguson
Lens Vs Roma Prediction
It’s never easy calling friendly results as the scoreline doesn’t really take priority. Building up match fitness and gaining valuable minutes is vital but on Saturday, it’s hard to imagine Roma not gaining the W.
The new summer additions are settling in well. So too is Gian Piero Gasperini and we fancy the 67-year-old to lead the Giallorossi to a close victory.
Prediction: Lens 1-2 Roma
