Roma Vs Inter Milan Preview

Roma have made a brilliant start to the 2025-26 campaign and will be aiming to further their early-season title credentials at the Stadio Olimpico this weekend.

The Giallorossi beat Fiorentina before the international break to make it three Serie A wins on the bounce. Goals from Argentina’s Matias Soule and Bryan Cristante helped clinch a 2-1 victory in Florence.

As it stands, Gian Piero Gasperini’s side is second in the standings level on 15 points with Napoli – who has a slightly stronger goal difference and is therefore perched at the summit.

After the opening six matchdays, Torino is the only blemish to Roma’s campaign so far. Giovanni Simeone scored the only goal of the game in a shock MD3 loss.

Now, Gasperini’s charges will head into Saturday’s clash knowing it will be their biggest test of the season. They can take confidence in the fact they ran out 1-0 winners in the last league meeting at the San Siro in April.

Meanwhile, Inter Milan appears to be getting into their stride after a wobbly start. A surprise 2-1 home defeat to Udinese and a dramatic 4-3 Derby d’Italia loss to Juventus cast doubts over Cristian Chivu’s tenure.

However, the Nerazzurri head coach has done mightily impressive since those setbacks. Chivu has overseen five wins on the bounce in all competitions and has seen his side concede just twice in that run.

Last time out, Lautaro Martinez, Ange-Yoan Bonny, Manchester United target Federico Dimarco and Nicolo Barella all netted in the 4-1 trouncing against Cremonese.

Going into the highly anticipated match, Inter are currently in fourth position boasting 12 points. A victory would see last season’s Champions League runners-up leapfrog their hosts.

Roma Vs Inter Milan Team News

In terms of Serie A transfers this summer, Roma spent a relatively modest €64million on new recruits. The finest return on that outlay so far is Brazilian full-back Wesley, who is set to make his sixth Serie A start.

On the injury front, loan signing Leon Bailey could be in contention after suffering a muscle problem during his first training session with the Giallorossi back in August. Angelino is definitely missing for the hosts.

Meanwhile, Inter will have to make do without Marcus Thuram. The French forward will likely be replaced by compatriot Ange-Yoan Bonny who sparkled in the Cremonese win before the break.

Matteo Darmian will undergo a late assessment to determine his potential inclusion in the roster. Lautaro Martinez will lead the line as he looks for his fifth Serie A goal contribution of the season.

Roma Vs Inter Milan Prediction

Roma has won 12 of their last 15 league matches on home soil whereas Inter have won their last four Serie A away games on the bounce. All by a 2-0 scoreline.

With the above in mind, a score draw is the most likely outcome. Even though the Giallorossi boasts an almost impenetrable backline, the Nerazzurri’s attack will be difficult to thwart.

Expect a fairly tight and cagey affair with both sides keen not to drop points in such a crucial early-season battle.

Prediction: Roma 1-1 Inter

Roma Vs Inter Milan Betting Tips

🔎 Roma vs Inter betting tip 1: Both teams to score at -120

Although Roma has a seemingly water-tight defense, we feel that Inter’s attacking prowess will be able to breach them this weekend. The Nerazzurri’s back-line has hardly been rock solid so BTTS at -120 provides decent value.

🔎 Roma vs Inter betting tip 2: Ange-Yoan Bonny to score anytime at +400

After a stunning outing against Cremonese on MD6 – whereby he scored once and provided a hat-trick of assists – it would be prudent to back Ange-Yoan Bonny to continue his hot streak.
