AC Milan Ace Christian Pulisic Set To Miss Lazio Clash
Christian Pulisic is a major injury doubt for Saturday's encounter.
Christian Pulisic is expected to be unavailable for AC Milan’s clash against Lazio at the San Siro on matchday 13.
That is according to Max Allegri, who told reporters in his pre-match press conference that Pulisic has little chance of making the squad.
The news will come as a potential blow to Rossoneri supporters. Especially as Pulisic has the most Serie A goal involvements since the beginning of the 2023-24 campaign.
Christian Pulisic Injury Update Doesn’t Bode Well For AC Milan
It’s understood that Christian Pulisic withdrew from Wednesday’s training session with muscle discomfort. However, AC Milan hasn’t revealed the full severity of Pulisic’s latest setback.
The USMNT star has already missed four games so far in 2025-26. He picked up a hamstring strain whilst on international duty in October.
He missed the victories over Fiorentina and Roma and also the draws against Pisa and Atalanta. Now, it’s highly unlikely he won’t be risked against Lazio.
“Pulisic will hardly be available for the match, but anything can happen tomorrow and the day after,” Max Allegri told reporters on Thursday.
Christian Pulisic’s Stats In 2025-26
After scoring the winner against arch rivals Inter Milan on matchday 12, Christian Pulisic now has nine goal involvements across all competitions for AC Milan.
He is the joint-top scorer in Serie A with five strikes. Pulisic has also found the back of the net on two occasions in the Coppa Italia whilst chipping in with a pair of assists.
His potential absence will be a concern from Milan’s perspective. Nonetheless, the Rossoneri has only minor injury problems elsewhere in the squad so replacements are available.
Max Allegri confirmed that Alexis Saelemaekers is fit for the weekend. Meanwhile, Santiago Gimenez is gaining strong Premier League interest but is still a few weeks away from a first-team return.
Will Christian Pulisic Sign A New AC Milan Contract?
Away from his injury concerns, Christian Pulisic’s long term future remains uncertain. Negotiations over a new AC Milan contract have been very much stop-start.
Pulisic’s salary request is the main stumbling block. The American international wants to at least double his current yearly earnings of €6.4million to make him Diavolo’s highest earner.
That in itself is a justifiable demand. Especially after he has produced a record number of goal contributions since moving to the San Siro in 2023.
Only time will tell if Pulisic remains in Milan but regardless of his contract renewal outcome, he will be vital to the club’s chances of securing a top-four finish in 2025-26.
