Dusan Vlahovic is set to miss two-months through injury and the Serbian’s future in Turin has been cast into doubt.

Dusan Vlahovic Ruled Out For Two Months Through Injury

Luciano Spalletti has been dealt a major blow as Juventus manager, as Dusan Vlahovic has been ruled out for at least two months after the Serbian was forced off against Cagliari.

The Bianconeri star limped off after just 31 minutes, showing clear discomfort in his left leg and tests have revealed that the Serbian suffered a severe adductor injury.

Vlahovic is now expected to be out for the remainder of 2025 and is unlikely to return until February next-year, meaning Spalletti will be without his top-scorer.

So far, the Juventus striker has scored six goals in 17 appearances across all competitions and has been the preferred option under the new Juve manager.

Jonathan David and Lois Openda have been utilized as back-up options for Vlahovic since Spalletti’s arrival, causing David to consider a LaLiga switch in January.

However, Vlahovic’s absence will deter Juventus from any deal that sees David move on in 2026 and the Bianconeri are also considering a temporary addition in January.

Several strikers from across Europe have been linked with a move to Turin, with Joshua Zirkzee, Niclas Fullkrug and Gabriel Jesus all catching the eye in Serie A.

Although the need to sign a new talisman is high on Juventus’ list of priorities, Vlahovic’s contract situation has become a pressing matter and the Bianconeri have taken a step back from negotiations following the Serbian’s injury.

Juventus Undecided Over Vlahovic Contract Extension

Juventus have been undecided over Vlahovic’s future in Turin for multiple seasons now and the 25-year-old’s deal is set to expire in June 2026.

This means that Vlahovic can negotiate with other teams over a pre-contract in February, which would see the Bianconeri lose their star man for free.

However, this recent injury concern may deter European sides from agreeing a deal with the Serbian at the start of 2026 and Juventus will have more time to consider their options.

Vlahovic is regarded as one of the best strikers in Serie A alongside Lautaro Martinez, who is also in a precarious situation after recent comments over his Inter Milan future.

The Juventus star has attracted interest from a host of sides as his contract in Italy comes to an end, but the Bianconeri are confident that Vlahovic will sign a new deal.

Another key factor is Vlahovic’s salary, as the 25-year-old is one of the highest paid players in Italy at €22.2million per year and is unlikely to be offered this at another club.
