Christian Pulisic’s One Demand During AC Milan Contract Talks Revealed
Talks over a new deal have stalled despite his impressive form.
Christian Pulisic is asking for a higher wage during contract negotiations with AC Milan, according to reports.
Milan Working To Tie Christian Pulisic Down With New Deal
The forward came off the bench to secure Milan a crucial 3-2 victory against Torino, despite being bedbound with the flu just hours before.
He had suffered from a temperature over the weekend but, after feeling better on the morning of the match, took a minibus to Turin to join up with his team-mates.
Massimiliano Allegri then brought him on in the 67th minute to devastating effect.
Pulisic was praised by the Italian press after scoring a 10-minute brace to propel Milan back to the top of Serie A.
Having chalked up nine goals in as many appearances this season, the club are working hard to tie him down. However, a breakthrough has not yet been reached.
His current terms are set to run down in June 2027, and lengthy talks over a deal have stalled.
Milan can trigger an automatic extension until 2028, but their preference is to secure his future until 2030.
The one stumbling block has now been revealed: his salary demands.
Corriere della Sera have claimed that Pulisic’s wage must be increased from the current €4million (£3.5m) net to €5m (£4.3m).

Milan Must Learn From Mike Maignan Mistake
Adopting the same strategy as Mike Maignan’s renewal is not enough, and Milan must act now.
As previously reported by FootItalia, Maignan’s departure is now a given despite him being offered a new deal. The goalkeeper has openly hinted that he wants to move on, and that stance has not changed.
Chelsea looked to sign him during the summer before pulling out, but a host of other clubs remain keen. Indeed, PSG, Bayern Munich and Juventus are among those monitoring his situation.
There would be a similar queue should Pulisic decide to chase greener pastures. Milan can therefore either stump up the €5m, a bargain for a player of the American’s calibre, or risk letting him slip away.
Previous reports also indicated that Pulisic was stalling over a desire to be given guarantees that the club will qualify for the Champions League this season.
At present, Milan are top of Serie A on goal difference, four points clear of fourth place.
