Denzel Dumfries Sparks Inter Milan Exit Rumors After Dutchman Signs To New Agency

Denzel Dumfries has sparked rumors over a move away from Inter Milan next year after hiring a new agent.

The 29-year-old has made a huge change to his professional set-up, as Dumfries has parted ways with the renowned soccer agent, Jorge Mendes.

Mendes is one of the most prolific agents in soccer, representing the likes of Lamine Yamal, Vitinha and Ruben Dias, while also acting as Cristiano Ronaldo’s agent between 2003-2022.

However, Dumfries has decided to move on after just one-year with Mendes and has managed to find a replacement almost immediately.

The Inter Milan star will be represented by Ali Barat, founder of Epic Sports, who currently represent some of the biggest stars in soccer.

Xavi Simons, Noni Madueke and Hugo Ekitike are all under Barat’s umbrella, with all-three of these players completing monstrous moves in the recent summer transfer window.

Dumfries has been out of action since November 23rd after picking up an ankle injury and the Dutchman has recently been joined by another Inter star, Francesco Acerbi who will miss multiple matches.

The Dutchman is expected to return before 2026 and play-out the remainder of this season, as this could be Dumfries’ last campaign with Inter Milan.

Changing agents in soccer tends to bring a new step in a player’s career, whether that’s an improved deal with a club or a move elsewhere.

Dumfries has been linked with multiple sides over the years after his impressive spell with the Nerazzurri, attracting interest from Manchester United in the summer.

His deal with Inter is set to expire in June 2028 after Dumfries signed an extended deal in November 2024, meaning the Italian side will set a hefty price tag for the Dutchman.

Ruben Amorim is said to be a huge admirer of the Netherlands international and believes Dumfries would suit his three at the back style.

Cristian Chivu is already monitoring defensive options for the January window, as Inter pursue Hajduk Split star Branimir Mlacic – who is also on Liverpool’s radar.

The Nerazzurri will be hoping to keep a hold of Dumfries and fend off any interest from the Red Devils, as the Premier League side are not willing to exceed €35m.
