AC Milan Dealt Dusan Vlahovic Blow Despite ‘Important Offer’ As Barcelona Swoop

AC Milan’s hopes of signing Dusan Vlahovic have been dealt a blow after Barcelona made contact.

According to Marca, the Spanish giants have officially made their move for Juventus striker Vlahovic as they look to snap him up on a free transfer at the end of the season.

Vlahovic faces an uncertain future in Turin, and his deal is set to run down next summer. He will, therefore, be able to negotiate with clubs over a pre-contract agreement in February.

Numerous suitors are circling, and Milan are among them, as reported by FootItalia.

The 25-year-old has scored an impressive 136 goals in his 319 total appearances at club level across his career, making him an ideal fit for Massimiliano Allegri’s side.

With the jury still out on Christopher Nkunku and Santiago Gimenez being poised to leave in 2026, bringing Vlahovic to the San Siro is a no-brainer. However, Barcelona may currently be in pole position.

The Serbian has often been linked with a move to Catalonia. Fabrizio Romano recently reported that both Barcelona and Bayern Munich had been in contact as recently as October.

While negotiations did not advance on that occasion, the LaLiga heavyweights look to have reignited their interest in their search for a replacement for Robert Lewandowski, who is similarly out of contract in June.

In a twist of irony, the Pole is also on Milan’s radar. He would do well to steer clear of a swansong in Italy, though.

It also remains to be seen whether Milan would be able to match Vlahovic’s staggering €22.2million per year salary, perhaps handing Barcelona another advantage in the two-way dogfight.

AC Milan Want Experienced, Long-Term Striker

Milan have brought in Niclas Fullkrug on loan from West Ham until the end of the season. The veteran target man will provide invaluable support for the likes of Christian Pulisic and Rafael Leao.

Partizan Belgrade wonderkid Andrej Kostic is also reportedly closing in on joining the club.

However, with Fullkrug a stopgap and Kostic one for the future, Milan are still on the hunt for long-term options.

Having set their crosshairs on Vlahovic, Milan brokered talks between Igli Tare and his agent, Darko Ristic. The contact was designed to position them for a free transfer, rather than any winter move.

Now, Tare reportedly intends to make an ‘important offer’ for the ace in February, hoping to wrap up the deal.
